I suppose I am just throwing this out to the forum in general as I finalize my intentions for the Venetian shows. I just called the Venetian and they fundamentally have no serious Covid protocols in place...they take folks word for Vax. status and ask you wear a mask if you are unvaccinated, but they are not asking for any verification and we know how that goes. I currently have really good ticket for the 29th [Friday, excellent, 2nd row(C) 3 from inside aisle in Section 1,($186.10 USD all fees & taxes in) ] and still very good seat in Section 3, Row P, also 3 from inside aisle (the 2 seats beside me went for over 3 times the ($108.30 all fees and taxes in) I paid). The costs will be higher if I return them to ticketmaster...not certain how that works... Being from Canada means I have flight costs and risks as well as hotel ones. Health insurance costs for the US is astronomical and they could decide not to cover covid costs at any time. I am looking to sell them, for what I paid...and thought I would offer here for a couple of days before going to Ticketmaster or Stub Hub. They are both a better seat and price than anything else available, I think....they are both singletons... I am sick at having to make this decision but I really do not see things getting better given the politicization of this whole issue. We have our share of hesitancy in Canada as well...but it is not as Party Political or as widespread as in the US. Our borders are supposed to open up in the next few months...but if US numbers do what is expected, I doubt that will really happen. Most Canadians are happy to stay protected from a lot of travel...so there is a good chance I would not be able to travel anyway. I also have a room at the Best Western, next to the Venetian, with double Queen beds....for a total of $489.78 USD all in for 2 nights...20th and 30th. They are easy to cancel so no problem, I just thought I would let someone know if they were interested. I will likely hold off cancelling until I know about the tickets at least. If the tickets are not wanted or someone wants me to take a loss...at this point, there is no reason to do that and I will hang on for a bit longer. LA numbers are going up rapidly as well so I worry for Adam going about in crowded bars with no mask...vaccination does not mean you won't get the disease...just that you likely will not get really ill...you can still transmit to others. That is another issue though and he is a big boy....but I am surprised...we have video of him leaning in and talking loudly with a fan ... for a selfie...with no masks in sight.... fwiw...I would love to be talked out of it from someone familiar with flying in and out of Canada, and Vegas....and with the trends we see here about the US. I have had tickets and plans for this show since the very beginnings of Covid.... and this has been --and still is--a really difficult decision and email, to make. I am posting this to the whole forum because there has been almost no activity on the meet up threads for ages. I was in Vegas last month and on the flight and in the airport, the masks were mandatory. In the hotels there was a mix of people both masked and unmasked so you could certainly wear a mask with no problem. The hotels looked spotless and smelled clean. Even in the casino areas there were disinfectant products that you could use if you chose to. I'm vaccinated and truthfully I felt pretty safe. I work with money and people and frankly, I feel less comfortable at work than I did in Vegas. I don't know if that helps. I'm going to see Manilow and Adam and feel pretty ok with that.

I'm not familiar with flying in and out of Canada right now and with the quarantine restrictions. Seems to be good for vax'd people in the states go to Canada, but not so good for Canadians who have not been vax'd to come into the US. (Daughter in law is Canadian, baby is coming this week, no relatives have been able to come in. But to address what may be going on for Las Vegas, and the numbers on covid. I'm a condominium attorney, and have been watching the vax issue and mask issue and everything else covid related while working from my basement, b/c the powers that be won't let us come back to work like normal.

The bottom line is that is you are fully vaccinated, great. You may still be exposed to the virus, which is called a break-through test for positive. Doesn't mean you will get sick. If you do, it will most likely be mild. But you could still transmit the virus to an un-vax'd person, such as your grandchild under age 12. So be aware. You are probably ok to travel, maintain distance from people you don't know, where a mask when uncomfortable. I'll be okay with meeting up with friends in LV who are vax'd for dinner, but I might mask in the theatre if next to someone I don't knoww.
