I have my copy of Adam's Rolling Stone faces tucked away. It's in a clear plastic sleeve so nothing will stain it or curl it. It's a treasure! And yes, the snake idea was his.

Raja/Sutan is lovely in either of his personae. He did very well in the drag biz. Didn't he win the whole Ru Paul Drag Race one year! I do remember on Adam's first solo tour, Glamnation, Raja did Adam's make-up. Great job, too. Raja was in my city with a drag revue …after his Drag Race win. I had balcony sofa seating with another Atoper. Perhaps because I had rarely gone to such events…it surprised me how little staging decor was used. Guess with travelling city to city, performing in rather small venues, and admission costs being very affordable, most funds would go to travel and accommodations. After the show the performers visited with the audience and allowed pictures. “Sutan” was seated on a brick wall divide, and after a young couple chatted with him, I approached and he chatted away…and had a selfie pic taken, and he said that it was not great so pulled me in closer and he took the pic. He was so kind and easy to chat with. |

It is interesting that ladyM posted the Rolling Stones cover as I was just thinking about that. I watched the Tina Turner documentary last night which was very good. She said that journalists were always asking about Ike so she finally told all in a book and a movie. She wanted to move on from that part of her life and she hoped that story would be laid to rest. But no, the Ike questions persisted. I remember that Adam said he hoped by acknowledging that he was gay in the Rolling Stones article that would end the speculation and gay questions. As we fans know that didn’t happen. I don’t follow any other people so I’m not sure if this happens a lot.
