Thelambertluvva, how exciting is that to find somebody that can so appreciate the technical perfection of Adam's voice?

Live shows are a bit of a pipe dream here in oz right now. Le Sigh. Seeing it is quiet on the Adam front a little something from the latest season of The Voice starting here in Oz (I live in hope of Adam judging for it one day US UK Oz don't care)... First night of blind auditions delivered a lovely effortless performance - I'd love to hear Adam tackle this song and suspect it would have many of the same flourishes. I like that husky quality to her voice. I'm glad she picked Guy...he always comes across as such a genuine guy (just from watching him with Adam). Do you know what the song is? It doesn't sound familiar to me. Sorry I missed your question. She would probably have picked Jess Mauboy if Guy hadn't blocked her. Guy can be a bit sanctimonious at times and he doesn't have a great track record of choosing songs so I hope he doesn't screw it up - she's a stand out so far. |

thelambertluvva, thank you for your great story! Connecting with someone new who loves and appreciates Adam is such a treat. This guy really gets it. So many of us of kind of "closet" fans who often don't realize when there are other AL fans in their midst.
The show was SO good, although apparently is was stifling. But Ada is always a pro and gets through it. His voice sounded AMAZING! Strong and clear as ever. Like the set list. Good combo of solo songs and Queen. The Queen songs are so uiversally known, it's good to include them. We got more vids than I thought we would!

I have a story related to this. Last week I attended a virtual ice breaker meeting for work where I was asked what my guilty pleasure was. I said I am a groupie of the band Queen because of its lead singer. Several people said "Adam Lambert" but one person typed in the chat "Adam Lambert? The GOAT. Did you hear him sing 'Believe'? He made Cher cry!" I responded, "I listen to it every day." I work in a huge company and never met an Adam fan so I had to IM him privately. He is an intern who sings in the a cappella group at a major university. He has had classical training in his youth. He has been blown away by Adam since American Idol, has watched several of his videos, with and without Queen, but isn't a stan like I am. He is a huge fan of Queen and Freddie but thinks Adam's vocal talent definitely surpasses Freddie's. When I told him about all of Adam's haters because he's with Queen, he said that it's possible to simultaneously appreciate Freddie's awesomeness and acknowledge that Adam has more refined vocal technique and ability with mind-numbingly beautiful sound. I first sent him Brigadoon, after which he said that that was the kind of training he had, and "good lord, he's talented" and "so unfair that his his voice and mix were so amazing at this age". Since he speaks Italian, I sent him Nessum Dorma next. He said his range was insane and it sounded gorgeous. I asked how his Italian was, and he said "wonderful". Sadly, his internship is ending this week, but we'll definitely keep in touch so we can flail about Adam. I told him we were just getting started.  Lucky you. At work I have a Mark Martel fan and a BTS groupie. |
