A sparkler up the nose could be an act on America's Got Talent. Maybe, maybe not. I am MORE than ready for Adam to get more visible again. And not just seeing him on vacation. So glad the Cover Bands is on its way. And the Vegas shows are not far off. There is nothing like Adam in his own element performing his own music. I agree about Gaga. ANOBTD is one of their signature songs and performances so they would not want to put a poor performance on their live CD just because Gaga was on it. TSMGO is still my favorite performance on the LATW.
Also look forward to more Adam performing. I would take solo or even some big QAL announcements. HA.
girldrummer, just to let you know I did see Respect yesterday. It started off slow and I thought Jhud is not holding my interest with this performance. Then it kicked into high gear and I forgot she was Jhud as she became Aretha. She was fantastic. I hope she gets the recognition that performance deserves.
Aretha sure had songs that make you Feel Something. I think a lot of that is missed today. There are some soul and black and white artists who can deliver the goods with much drama and emotion but it is not heard as often today. I think we lost a lot when the Dr. Luke and MM pop era took over. They made everyone sound almost the same. They pushed out many big hits (and yes some are good) but not many that could bring you to your knees, lol. And they did not seem to know how to work with that rare talent so there was the blending in to sound like EVERYONE else. I remember my club days when I wanted to dance all night. But there were artists who could get you on your feet or make you rock but also deliver songs that made you weak. Those songs were the ones most remembered.

Agree, lurleene. There is a sameness to a lot of music now. It's not that I'm not listening, because I am. But I like songs with strong hooks. Most of Adam's songs have them. They are what hold a song together. Too many songs just meander around with no strong chorus or theme to grab onto. It's been that way for quite a while. Pop is worse about this than rock. Rock music still rely on a relies on an anchor in a song that gives it some depth. I guess my heart is really in rock. I wish Adam could do some pure rock songs. He kills the ones he does do. I know he loves pop, though. I love just about every song Adam has ever done. The perfect vocals don't hurt, either.

Ok, that's NOT the most flattering pic to show up on my screen when I refreshed. Lol.

Nice little chat! He sure got a lot of international viewers this time. Not much new news, but it sounds like he's putting together the Vegas shows, so that's a good. The Cover Bands will start airing on Oct. 13, so he either didn't know the date or forgot. Anyway, it's on its way, too. He didn't mention Global Citizen which is Sept. 25. Hope he performs a bit or at least says hi. He seems happy and eager to get going again. No Oliver questions, or at least he chose not to answer them. LOL

Ok, that's NOT the most flattering pic to show up on my screen when I refreshed. Lol. That much smoothing filter on what is an older but beautiful face, borders on the excessive use of autotune for an incredible voice. It kind of makes me sad that he feels the need. I have nothing against people making themselves the most beautiful that they can be but it's best to have boundaries. It also made me sad when I asked my step-mother, a lovely woman who had just turned 80, to tell me something good about growing older and she - I kind you not - flatly said, "Nothing." Ever since then, I have really made a conscious effort everyday to find a bright side of growing older. It's easier when you are not constantly comparing yourself to your youth.
