Ha! I rather like they include Adam fronting Queen in the article with the Rolling Stone guitar replacement announcement. But the part that Adam first alienated fans was not really all that true. Sure some "no one can replace Freddie" types were angry (some likely still are). But from the day Adam stepped on that stage at the EMA's, to show what he had, the response has been wonderful. And many of the complaints were from people who did not attend the concerts. They wanted Freddie back but that was impossible. Their lost. And arenas and stadiums full of happy fans for QAL around the world was a thing long before the BR movie came out. Things got even more crazy after the release. But the response for Adam has always been great tho you may not have known from a minor bit of the media, and some bitter he is not Freddie fans, who wanted to keep Freddie's spot open after 25+ years. However, most agreed that he was the perfect choice.

There was quite a bit of pushback and hate...nasty comments on every single video, lots of hate on the Queen forum, as I recall. No idea if they were in the minority and just really loud, but it did prompt the Adam fan hated speech "I know I'm not Freddie, but" and the pushback from Brian and Roger. So there was enough of an outcry from the purists that they took notice.
To this day you can read comments on some of the videos and you'll see "Freddie is Queen, not Adam". They're just not that prevalent anymore. I think a few got converted once they actually attended concerts. And as always, some are just trolls.

Yep there were a lot of hateful comments on forums but that is always the case. Even Marc Matel fans and other Idol fans of others got in on the action with the not Freddie crowd. And some homophobes even joined in. A lot of REPEAT performers looking for attention, lol. I decided early on to ignore them. But I think with the arenas filled and fans happy with the concerts, that carried far more weight than the always complaining about Adam fronting Queen crowd. People did not take them seriously (well maybe some were impressed) and paid big money to see QAL live. If the arenas were half empty maybe they would have made their point. But that never happened and the proof showed up with the amount of money the concerts made. Brian, Roger, Adam (their bank accounts did not care about fools) and Adam fans were delighted.

Yeah, the filled concerts pretty much put any complaints to rest...nowadays they just sound petty, and are pretty much ignored. The proof is in the pudding, as they say.

Sadly, I'll be watching the live stream instead of going to Vegas, so I have put my tickets up on Ticketmaster, for half the price of the resale seats next to them! I have them listed on Ticketmaster for $110, which is my $92 cost plus Ticketmaster Fees. If anyone here wants them, I'll take them down and sell them direct at my cost. I have one ticket for the 29th, and one for the 30th, both of them in the balcony, front row center. I see that all the other resale balcony front row tickets are listed at $200+. PM me if interested.

Good luck on the re-sale. I had center row balcony which I sold almost immediately on TM when I sold them at cost, compared with the up-priced ones next. (First weekend.)
My niece is getting married on the 29th, so streaming Adam's performance then is not an option. I am going the 21st and 22nd, taking all precautions.
Sweden just shut down welcoming Americans on leisure travel. May things change by next summer, as we have tickets to QAL where we plan to meet up with my sister in law who has lived there since 1979. Obviously, we've missed the annual visits the past two years.

I love Adam's spirit wolf! He is so multi-talented. Might be misinterpreting your comment. This piece was created by Adam’s artist friend Chris Saunders. With Adam signing the limited editions, I assume both Adam and Chris benefitted from the sales. so true though…Adam does have a talent…he can draw as we have seen at least two through some media interviews where he quickly drew images. He also created an acrylic circular piece he hung in his home.
