myspenser, how was Bob Seger? I'm a big fan and have never seen him live. His last album Face the Promise is very good if anyone is a fan.

For those, who in addition to saving money and frequent flyer miles for Adam concerts, are also interested in inbibing in some healthy eating and more frequent exercise (the better to dance and flail) I'd like to point you to our latest Shape Up thread. We did this last year and quite a few people had pretty good success. Everyone is welcome. However, I must be stupid because everything I have read so far seems to be really complicated. I still can't figure out where to go to sign up. myspenser, how was Bob Seger? I'm a big fan and have never seen him live. His last album Face the Promise is very good if anyone is a fan. Seger was great but is finally showing his age. His voice sounded weak in some of the songs with full band. My favorite parts of the show were 4 acoustic songs he sang, 2 with him playing piano and 2 with him playing guitar. His voice sounded fantastic in those, But when he was singing some of the more upbeat songs, with the band blaring, his voice got lost. One song, can't remember which one, it almost sounded like he was going to lose his voice. I wouldn't be surprised if this is his last tour. But you know, he is 66 and what an amazing career and song catalog. My 2007 Seger concert has ranked in my Top 5 all time best concerts. That one is still up there, but not sure if this one would make Top 10. Of course, back in March of 2007, I was just getting back into going to concerts. So maybe my point of reference was different. I've seen many amazing concerts since then. It was fun to see "my generation" rockin' out! We still got it!!  ETA: Here is a very good review I just found from the Hollywood Reporter. Obviosuly, my problem is that I was comparing it to his 2007 show. :-/ The show was 1 hr 45 minutes and that includes 2 encores, with 2 songs in each.. www.hollywoodreporter.com/review/bob-seger-at-staples-center-276703 |
