For me it was the staging and drama of Adam rising from the chair in Mad World. I reveled in his beautifully expressive voice and emotional intent. The whole damn package.

I'm glad you found Adam and us because I always find your posts are informative. I discovered and fell in love with Adam when he covered the Rolling Stones on AI. I hadn't watched the earlier episodes. I was stunned by the vocals and showmanship!! and my life changed! I watched the auditions including BoRhap, but it wasn't until Satisfaction that I actually started paying attention. After the first two lines, when he got to "But I try...", I expected the voice of any contestant to start having issues hitting the notes. But not only did he not have any problems, he kept going higher and higher. I remember telling my wife who was sitting next to me "Hey, this one is a GREAT singer!" By the end of the song my life had changed, too... I remember Adam's introductory package was interesting, as he had that "emo" haircut but he sounded so upbeat and charming. Then, when he said he was going to do "Satisfaction" I thought "oh boy, that is a tough one as it is hard to compare to Mick Jagger!" I have never seen the Rolling Stones in concert, but I did see the documentary "Shine a Light" at the IMAX and talk about energy and charisma!! Anyhow I was blown away by Adam and since I had recorded the show on the VCR, I was able to show everyone in my family. But I was the only one who became a true fan. Their loss!! Every week, he kept upping his game and the rest is history!

A bit OT, but I discovered this forum 10 years ago after watching the EMAs. I have read every post each day ever since - that is 3,653 days so far, with no end in sight. Thank you all for keeping this place informative, and thank you Adam for keeping us entertained! So we should hit the 5000 day Idol anniversary sometime in 2022 right? I was a young(er) whippersnapper back then. When he sang TSMGO for this Queen family special I thought they could have used some cuts of the EMAs. First song he sang as their lead. As others have said, it's been great having you here along with everyone in our Adamtopia family. I've been a little lax in my every dayness this year. Probably more in the 5 out of 7 range but this place always feels like home.

I was hooked from the first 6 notes he sang: "Mama, just killed a man". When Paula said he had been in the cast of Wicked, I figured the guy could legitimately sing. Thought, "Okay, I can relax for this one. I am not going to cringe." Still, the purity and beauty of his tone jerked me up right. That sound was divine.
