mszue - I love his look in those photos. He is younger in them, of course, but the soft looseness also makes him look younger as well. I know what you mean about the thinning, I am getting bald faster than I care to contemplate. Joining that particular club also...thanks to my Mom and grandmother. For some reason my sister, who is only 11 months younger, doesn't seem to have to worry about that problem. She must go after our dad, whoever he was. She also got his hair color. Thanks, Mom! I got a red laser helmet from Costco. I think it has helped.

Jablea - That's very interesting. I found a Harvard study that concludes there is a "statistically significant terminal hair density increase" after 26 weeks with the FDA-cleared HairMax LaserComb. I am glad it has worked for you and if I were younger I might be in the market. But I am going to keep cutting my hair really short and pretend that the light reflecting off my white hair and shiny scalp are a well-deserved halo dash.harvard.edu/bitstream/handle/1/12152951/3986893.pdf?sequence=1

Another thing that helps some people with thinning hair is peppermint essential oil. I've forgotten the exact facts, however, in general, a university study found that organic peppermint oil - 2 drops in a tablespoon of water massaged into the thinning areas each day and allowed to dry for 20 -30 minutes - did help limit thinning and/or stimulated some regrowth for a majority of the study group.)
After the 20-30 minutes shampoo or rinse as usual. If you prefer to apply the peppermint oil at night you can leave it on overnight if using the 2 drops oil per tablespoon of water dilution. It will make your pillow smell like peppermint, though.
It helped me after a strange respiratory illness caused a lot of thinning. (Not covid - happened 6 or 7 months before covid even came to the world's attention.) My hair didn't completely return to how it was pre-illness, but it did improve a lot.
I still use the peppermint oil in a tablespoon of water every day. Perhaps I could stop now, but I don't want to stop and discover my hair thinning again. Guess I'm a little superstitious about it now... When it thinned so much so quickly it was pretty awful. I wore hats for most of a year.
Organic peppermint oil is easy to find online and it's not very expensive. Be sure to dilute it as mentioned above. You can dilute with water or a carrier oil. Full strength can be harmful.

Thank you nonotme - I enjoy the scent of peppermint. I usually save it for Christmas chocolates, but hair growth seems like a joyous use as well. There is really a lot of wonderful knowledge on this board!
