Not going to give away the ending to COTCB. But I had to laugh at the confused look that the Elton John Tribute guy gave Adam. Adam said he could relate to him because he became the frontman for Queen 10 years ago and had to make it his own after stepping in for Freddie (or something like that). The dude was probably thinking, they hired you as the frontman for Queen but not to impersonate Freddie. The Elton guy was not hired to make it his own but to be as much like Elton as possible. Otherwise he was not doing a good job for what he was hired to do. I don't think that was what Adam meant but it was odd to compare their situations, lol. It was like someone told him - you've got to mention your work with Queen one time because it was just awkward and not usually something he'd bring up on his own. In addition to it making the act not being an exact copy it made it seem like QAL was a tribute act too. Now I think we can discuss last night, just not give away any judging results right. These two acts were just hard for me because I know them a bit but not enough to be really into them. So with Elton, sure the costumes, the piano etc but he's young and that's not my current image and I have no if his voice matches. Same with Gaga because she's never been recognizable visually or vocally to me. I actually thought she looked more like Gaga without the hair and makeup. So in real life I think I recognize their songs but not their vocals. And when I put it that way and looking back over the Clash season I'm probably like that with most artists that I knew and then of course there were all the acts that I didn't even know. I think I was surprised at both decisions tonight - between the platinum artists and also overall - never would have predicted the overall. Now back to the season. I think I agreed with most of the decisions, except for the JLo one because I didn't think she could dance. |

That was illogical and cringe worthy for sure, imo Adam would not say anything like that on his own. otherwise - he looked gorgeous in both outfits! |

It was as if someone was trying to elevate these people to a different level and I don't believe it would be Adam. They are what they are, tribute acts.
As for Elton, I didn't know him when he was wearing and looking so OTT. Glad he grew out of that stage. Better to let his talent make the statement and not try to look more outrageous each time. I don't think he would be thought of so highly and taken seriously today if he had continued with the gimmicks. If not for the Rocketman movie, I would wonder what that guy was doing, lol.
