Apropos of nothing in particular…well, apropos John Bishop. In c. 2003, my husband and I took the boys to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. One night in the Comedy Courtyard area, we wandered into a tiny metal shipping container with a few camping chairs inside it, to see an unknown comedian named John Bishop. Just my family and an older couple. John Bishop was so unknown then that the chap taking the tickets at the entrance asked to see his ticket! As we had already sat through an embarrassingly ‘blue’ lunchtime comedy session, I asked John if his act was more family friendly and he said it wasn’t but that he could ‘adapt’ it. And we had the most wonderful 90 mins…John was hilarious talking about his real life cycle ride from Singapore back to England and all the mad adventures he had a long the way, The boys were absolutely enthralled and we’ve loved watching his career grow and grow until he’s a very big star here. So it’s extra poignant to see him with Adam now….Adam was my other tip-for-the-top of course.

What a cool story, SophieB...you knew him back before. Don't have any idea who he is, but it sounds like he's pretty well known in your neck of the woods.

I knew he looked familiar in that video where he sings and Adam runs. He's wonderful. Funny side note, I went to high school in British schools and have never, until this season of Doctor Who, had a problem following many regional accents, but I have literally had to turn on closed captioning a couple of times, those guys talk so fast. Or maybe I'm getting slow because it *has* been a while since I was a teenager.
