Translated from Portuguese 2 years ago, on this date, Queen + Adam Lambert performed in Dunedin/New Zealand. Hours earlier, Brian had announced that the audience would be in for a surprise; so today's #tbt goes to the promised surprise: the band performed the classic “Whole Lotta Love” by Led Zeppelin. twitter.com/QueenOnlineBr/status/1491907311593738242

It looks like "Starstruck" is the UK version of "Clash of the Cover Bands" except for more than one contestant to be on the stage to embody the same celebrity. I have to be honest, after briefly seeing three Freddies next to each other in one of the Starstruck previews I feel a bit uneasy about Adam "judging" the Freddie impersonators, knowing that he himself as the front man for Queen has always made it a priority to not copy Freddie and instead honor him in his own way. I know, two very different things but still... I am wondering how Brian and Roger feel about it. In the end, it's good publicity I guess, as both QAL and that one "Starstruck" episode do celebrate the icon. I love the recent suits on Adam - the brown D&G one and the pinstriped blue one (also D&G?) - and I am hoping for more well fitted and flattering outfits like those. Does anybody remember when the "Starstruck" episodes were filmed? That was a while ago, wasn't it? I think Startstruck was filmed in May/June last year. It was the time when Adam stayed several months with Oliver in London.
Judging the Freddie group was probably a bit weird for Adam, but in the end it’s just fun. I mean, Olly Murs had to watch and interview his own impersonators, so how must that feel? 😁 As I understand it, the Freddies are only one of several groups in this one first show, so it’s not that big of a part. Unless they get chosen as the best group to come back at the end of the episode for the finale. Thanks nightowl. I thought they filmed it a while ago but I couldn't remember exactly. I appreciate your insight on "Starstruck".
