deanpiper deanpiper FIRST LISTEN: Adam Lambert's wonderful Trespassing...... #adamlambert deanpiper.com/2012/01/18/first-listen-adam-lamberts-wonderful-trespassing/2 minutes ago deanpiper deanpiper Really hope you check out my words on Lambert if you're a fan. And if you're not GET READY. Adam has delivered big style with Trespassing. 1 minute ago Having spent time with Adam Lambert recently I’ve got to know him a little and knew from the get go that Trespassing would be VERY different to For Your Entertainment. And it is. It’s pop music to the core. You need to dust off those Cuban heels, grab your disco pants and unleash on the dancefloor. So I heard six songs today. Three are sure fire radio and chart hits – easily. And this is aside from the lead single Better Than I Know Myself. That track is a ‘soft launch’ to an album like this. On his debut album Adam would probably freely admit it was a little rushed. As with every person that comes out of a show like Idol, it was a case of strike while the iron is hot. Trespassing is actually a completely different beast. Firstly, his vocals are amazing. Secondly, Adam co-writes most of the tracks – making it deeply personal. And thirdly he’s worked with some of the best producers in the business. This album was born to fly. It’s also something I can imagine in full being more of a ‘piece of work’ rather than just a male pop vocalist album. The scope to push boundaries with the tracks I’ve heard is huge. It also feels like an album that will take him from being a name ‘from Idol’ in Europe to a serious player. A household name. I can see the majority of these tracks being on radio (Capital will cream their pants over it) – and I’m told there’s more surprises in store. There’s one track that is yet to be complete that “will blow your mind”. What I’ve heard has given me a buzz. Most tracks gave me an excited tingle down my spine – and that doesn’t happen much when I’m thrown 50 odd singles and albums each week….believe me! So before I start a track by track run down let me say this. I believe in this album and Adam. He’s delivered something quite special here. Better Than I Know Myself – Lukasz ‘Dr Luke’ Gottwald, Cirky, Ammo The first track off the new album. BTIKM is an interesting choice for the lead. It’s perfect pop and his vocals are on fire. Releasing this track first shows just how confident the label is on this album. Outlaws of Love – Rune Westerberg, Adam Lambert This is ‘the ballad’ of the album. As a whole I’m told Trespassing is going to have a light and dark feel as a whole. Lots of high energy dance songs on one side and then a dark side that feature the more personal stuff. This track is all about Adam coming out, getting to know himself and dealing with prejudice he’s encountered for being gay. “Say we’ll rot in hell, I don’t think we will.” It’s written beautifully and is empowering and you really connect with the fact this song is deeply personal. It feels like an Aguilera ballad (minus the dodgy diva fakeness). He should be extremely proud of this one – and it will become a firm anthem for the fans….. Cookoo – Ollie Gee, Adam Lambert and Bonnie McGee This song is friggin’ HUGE. It’s dance pop through and through and people will be gagging to remix it. A floorfiller, massive radio hit for Europe and even has a Britney style breakdown for the dance moves to be flexed. It was instantly a winner and a definite single. Trespassing – Pharrell Williams, Adam Lambert Who knew that Pharrell and Adam would make such an insanely good match! Not an obvious pairing but it feels so slick. It brings the FUNK and has a Gwen Stefani Hollerback Girl clap to it. You could imagine the video the second the claps began. It also has a touch of early Queen to it in the shape and form of the thundering bassline running throughout. Shady (Feat. Nile Rogers and Sam Sparro) – Lester Mendez, Nile Rogers. Written by Adam Lambert and Sam Sparro Shady is the track Justin Timberlake should be launching if/when he realises that he was once a Prince of Pop. It’s a little more pop r+b I guess and yes, it is shady. There’s a Scissor Sisters style funk feel to it that runs throughout and the guest vocals work beyond perfectly. I was excited about this one and it doesn’t disappoint. Broken English – Lester Mendez, Adam Lambert Easily his strongest vocal on the sampler I’ve heard. It’s subtle and controlled and reminded me of a Darren Hayes style track but with an injection of adrenalin to make it actually worthwhile listening too without wanting to top yourself when it’s overplayed. OVERALL: I’m gagging to have Trespassing on my iPod. I’m also thrilled that he’s produced this. It’s a new Adam but most importantly it’s a better Adam. He’s raised his game, found what works and is onto a winner.

Electroqueer EQ Music Blog Album Review: EQ's Thoughts on Adam Lambert's New Album "Trespassing" bit.ly/yMPDzUJan 19 Retweeted by JordanMeehan JordanMeehan Jordan Meehan ADAM LAMBERT FANS! Here's my review of the tracks I heard from TRESPASSING: www.eqmusicblog.com/2012/01/thoug....respassing.html @adamlambert Jan 19 Thursday, January 19, 2012 Album Review: EQ's Thoughts on Adam Lambert's New Album "Trespassing"by Jordan Meehan and Raj Rudolph Good afternoon, Adam Lambert fans! We have some extremely exciting news to share with all of you! This afternoon, we were lucky enough to get an exclusive first listen to five new tracks from Adam Lambert's upcoming album "Trespassing," which is due out in the UK on March 19th (March 20th in the US). We've been Adam Lambert fan for years now so needless to say, we have been extremely excited about this new album since we heard about it. Normally when we hear about one of our favorite artists releasing a new album, we try to not get our hopes up too high, just in case it isn't what we want it to be. This is NOT THE CASE with Adam Lambert's new album. If you need to break it down into 140 characters...our mini review is just this: On "Trespassing" @adamlambert has perfected the mix of pop, rock, dubstep, dance and melody to make a cohesive and mighty piece of pop art.Based on the new tracks we heard today - we can tell you that "Trespassing" is going to be amazing. So - what did we think?... "Cookoo": My goodness. It only took about 20 seconds for this song to be one of my favorite songs of 2012. "Cookoo" opens up with a hard dance beat and progresses with swirly, sweeping synths that lure you in and make you want to dance. The chorus is huge. Massive sound and the track showcases Adam's extremely powerful vocals that have repeatedly set him above all the rest. Then we get to the bridge of the song, which is pure hard electro greatness. "Cookoo" is an extremely infectious song that demands attention right from the get go and is definitely one that you will all have on repeat for days. "Trespassing": Speaking of infectious tracks, "Trespassing" is one that really hits home for me as a Queen fan. Right from the beginning it features a bass line and beat extremely reminiscent of Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust" while maintaining a very unique sound. The chorus to this song is also very big, and very, very anthemic; one that you'll be passionately singing along with every listen. It's almost as if he gave Queen a pop kick and brought their sound into 2012. (Listen and download the new single "Better Than I Know Myself") "Shady": This song, a collaboration with Sam Sparro and Nile Rogers, is attention grabbing from the get go. The lyrics are very suggestive and Adam's vocals are extremely seductive. His vocals on this track are also very diverse and really show off his extensive vocal range and ability. With a swelling bass and a big dance chorus, this song will make you want to dirty dance into the early hours of the morning. "Outlaws of Love": This song absolutely broke my heart. It's a much slower tempo ballad, which shows off the darker elements of the album and features very tender, vulnerable vocals. Not only is this a very vulnerable song, it is also very emotionally revealing and authentic. Adam really lets his guard down and reveals his heart with this song and such authentic vulnerability is a rare find in pop music these days. The lyrics are rather sad, but this song will, without a doubt, hit home with the LGBT community (and everyone else, in all honesty). When you listen to it, be sure to have some tissues nearby. Seriously. "Broken English": This is the final song we heard and it is more of a mid-tempo dance song with a very driving beat. I was initially a little skeptical about this one until I heard the chorus. The chorus to this song is huge and even infuses some dubstep into it, which proved to be very effective. And then you're blindsided by Adam's huge vocals and you instantly fall in love with this track. The breakdown in the bridge is also irresisible and features very hard electronica fused together with some dubstep. Based on the five songs I heard today I can say without a doubt that "Trespassing"will be the album of the year. One of my problems with his first album, "For Your Entertainment", was that it tried to do too much with differnet genres and was a bit scattered. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the album, but there seemed to be too many different styles of music going on. "Trespassing" fuses together rock, dance-pop and a little dubstep and does it expertly. While this album is extremely foward-thinking and sonically progressive, this isn't all that makes it great. What makes this album so wonderful is that you can really feel Adam's personality shining through in each song. Few artists have the ability to do what Adam does here: to create a piece of art that stems straight from the heart and soul while still sounding so unique, futuristic and amazing. Get ready Glamberts, "Trespassing" by Adam Lambert is going to seriously shake up the pop music scene in 2012.

tkradio toby knapp @adamlambert's label, @rcapromo is ramping up the 'promoganda' to US radio for BTIKM! Thought you might like a look: bit.ly/u7eKdWDec 19 Monday, December 19, 2011 ADAM LAMBERT: RCA's Pitch To Radio, Impacting US 1/30/2012THE ADAM LAMBERT pitch machine is on full blast! His label, RCA, is working radio with BETTER THAN I KNOW MYSELF, and they're hyping even more about the new CD, too! Take a look at the list of super talent and producers Lambert's been working with, above! The label is impacting his song 1/30. The feeling the label has is that since BTIKM is a mid-tempo song, it will cut through the clutter of overproduced club banging uptempo wall-of-sound music which currently dominates the pop landscape. Additionally, the label is working the song to POP and ADULT POP formats, meaning they're going for airplay on stations which target people - specifically females - ages 12 to 54. The message: Adam Lambert is mainstream. And if this project does what it looks like it could do, it could have the same impact on pop that Lady Gaga has had. Tall order, but entirely possible. Especially if the music is amazing. Wow! As big as Gaga! That would be amazing!! His life is Never going to be the same after this. I wish him all the happiness in the world. He truely deserves the 'props' he's getting, finally. I don't agree w/ the people that say hes LUCKY . He's worked very hard to get everything he has (and will have) it's about damn time everyone knows who he is and why WE love him!!!

www.mtv.co.uk/news/adam-lambert/344038-adam-lambert-trespassing-first-listen#.Tx2Ww3tJPYw.twitterAdam Lambert - 'Trespassing' First Listen!EXCLUSIVE | Find out what MTV thought of Glambert's new LP here... 17:46, Monday, 23 January 2012 Adam Lambert is back with his eagerly anticipated sophomore album Trespassing and MTV.co.uk have been lucky enough to bag a first listen to an exclusive sampler. Following his debut release For Your Entertainment, Glambert is now gearing up to unleash his latest offering, looking to make his mark on the UK charts and follow the huge success that he's already achieved Stateside. After impressing us with his show-stopping performance with legends Queen at the 2011 MTV EMA, we had high expectations for Lambert's new LP and from what we've heard so far, it's a bit of a corker. Lambert himself has previously described the album as: "An exciting journey through the past two years of my life. It's been a transformative period and I really wanted to make music from what I've experienced. All these songs honestly explore the ups and downs of my reality." Stand out songs include LP title track Trespassing - a foot-stomping anthem produced by Pharrell Williams - whose presence can be felt throughout the tune. With its heavy bassline and thumping beats, it's sure to be a hit - showing a more edgy R&B feel compared to his previous material. Other highlights include heartfelt ballad Outlaws Of Love. Described as the 'most personal song' on the record, the dark track tells the tale of a forbidden relationship - otherwise known as Lambert's 'coming out' song. It displays a softer side to the somewhat eccentric star, giving him a chance to show off his crazy vocals and believe us, this boy can sing! Lead single Better Than I Know Myself is also a chance for Adam to show off his vocal range, reaching notes we didn't even know were possible. Lambert fans, think Whataya Want From Me. Lambert has also teamed up with Bonnie McKee - who has worked with Katy Perry and Britney Spears - on electo-pop tune Cuckoo, which is already proving to be a firm favourite among his loyal fan base. Sam Sparro also features on the album, working with Adam on synth-heavy track, Broken English and Shady - which wouldn't look out of place on a Maroon 5 LP. Dirty pop at it's best. Overall, Trespassing displays Lambert's progression from being a contestant on American Idol to becoming an artist in his own right and we can't wait to hear the rest of the record! Better Than I Know Myself is available to download from 11th March, ahead of the release of Trespassing on 19th March. lyndseyparker Lyndsey Parker Okay, here's my preview of the 4 unreleased (and awesome) @adamlambert album tracks I've heard so far! #timetogocuckoo yhoo.it/AAe56t1 minute ago Time To Go Cuckoo! A Preview of Adam Lambert’s ‘Trespassing’ AlbumBy Lyndsey Parker | Reality Rocks – 13 minutes ago Thousands of Glamberts, myself among them, have been anticipating the arrival of Adam Lambert's second album, Trespassing, the way the paparazzi await his arrival on every red carpet, or the way Adam himself presumably awaits his latest shipment of magic space glitter from the Planet Fierce. Hard as it may be to believe, it's been (as of this writing) two years, two months, three hours, and 58 minutes since the release of Adam's debut album For Your Entertainment, while he's managed to keep himself in the heavily guylinered public eye via tireless touring (which made him one of the top-earning Idols of the past year); a live album and DVD; acoustic and remix EPs; appearances on reality shows like "Project Runway" and "Majors & Minors"; and a surprise Queen duet at the MTV Europe Awards so staggeringly magnificent, it practically had fans openly weeping, a lack of new studio material from His Royal Glamness has been frustrating indeed. But good things come to those who wait, and based on the four unreleased Trespassing tracks I have heard, his sophomore album is going to good indeed. Actually, scratch that. It's going to be great. My first impression of the four songs, besides their obvious awesomeness, is how cohesively they hang together, even as they flip between the light and dark, the hard and soft, the upbeat and the downtempo. For Your Entertainment was an almost schizophrenic genre-hopper, with songs penned by everyone from rockers like Muse's Matt Bellamy, Weezer's Rivers Cuomo, and the Darkness's Justin Hawkins, to pop songsmiths-for-hire like Max Martin, Ryan Tedder, and Linda Perry, to even actual pop stars like Lady Gaga and Pink--a hodgepodge that I thoroughly enjoyed, as FYE sort of sounded to me like the raddest K-TEL compilation ever, but something that drew ire from critics who thought the album seemed too unfocused. Well, those critics will shut up soon enough, as it seems like on Trespassing, Adam has truly found his voice. Gone is any semblance of classic-rock posturing, which may disappoint early fans of his "Idol" performances of Zeppelin, the Stones, Aerosmith, Steppenwolf, et al; however, the glossy-but-not-too-glossy sound of Trespassing really fits Adam like a custom-made Skingraft leather jacket. This is big, shiny pop, but it's pop with an edge. Remember how Adam once described himself as "edgy, with a smile"? Yeah, it's like that. The other major impression I have--and it's an impression that I predict will be shared by many--is how very different the other Trespassing tracks sound from the disc's already released first single, "Better Than I Know Myself." That song is a VH1-friendly power ballad along the lines of "Whataya Want From Me"--and of course, since "WWFM" was FYE's biggest (and Grammy-nominated) hit, it makes sense that something similar in vibe would be Trespassing's lead single, a reintroduction of Adam to the American mainstream. (I assume most of you reading this are already intimately familiar with "Better Than I Know Myself"; if not, go educate yourself and read my review/listen to the track HERE, and see Adam perform it for the first time on television HERE.) However, listeners who assume that "BTIKM" is representative of Trespassing won't know what hit 'em once they hear bangin' floor-fillers like the Hi-NRG disco workout "Cuckoo" and the utterly badass title track, or darker and deeper electroballads like "Broken English" and "Underneath." To borrow a line from "Trespassing," wait till ya get a load of this. Can't wait? Well then, here are my thoughts on the four non-"BTIKM" Trespassing tracks that have trespassed my lucky, happy earholes so far... "Cuckoo" - This is basically "If I Had You 2: Electric Boogaloo." It's the sound of Kylie Minogue, La Roux, and the Scissor Sisters chugging a case of Red Bull and then getting in a time machine set for 1977 and going to Studio 54, then getting back in that time machine, switching the dial to 1992, and heading to a rave. This is all a convoluted way of me saying that this hot track just makes me wanna dance, dance, dance. This is the jammmmm, people. "Cuckoo" is intelligent, sophisticated, unnervingly catchy electropop--as in, if it doesn't have some effect on you, then you must be dead from the neck up and/or waist down--and I will freely and dorkily admit that it had such an effect on me that one night when I was working late at the office, I merrily danced around the Yahoo! cubicle maze to it, all by myself. (I sincerely hope the security cameras weren't on.) Bonnie McKee, who co-penned most of Katy Perry's recent monster smashes ("Teenage Dream," "Last Friday Night," "California Gurls"), had a hand in this one too, and honestly, this monster is among her finest work. "Cuckoo" is just cuckoo-crazy-good, and it really ought to be Adam's next single. And I can't wait till I hear the remixes. Oh yes, there better be remixes. "Trespassing" - Adam's ties to Queen go back to his jaw-dropping, pulse-stopping performance with them at the Season 8 "American Idol" finale (Best. Idol. Finale. Performance. Ever.), and his triumphant reunion with them at the MTV EMAs had to have had some influence on him. Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust" and "We Will Rock You" are the obvious pop-culture touchstones here, considering "Trespassing's" bowel-rumbling disco bassline (so funky, I could've sworn this was the track with Nile Rodgers), syncopated handclaps, and gang-chanty intro. But other supercool drill-team favorites come to mind: I hear shades of Toni Basil's "Mickey," Frankie Smith's "Double Dutch Bus," Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation," and even the Go! Team here. And there's a heavy-breathing breakdown in the middle that features some of the sexiest panting since Donna Summer's "Love To Love You Baby," or at least since Madonna's "Burning Up," Kinky's "Más," or the Faint's "Posed To Death." I imagine if I played this Adam/Pharrell co-write in my car, it'd fog up my windows...and I know if I crank it at my next party, it'll burn up my dance floor. (Side note: I'm kind of hoping Adam will perform this one day with Queen backing him up. Just putting that idea out there. Brian May, if you're reading this, make it happen.) "Broken English" - I know this is an obscure reference, but my first thought when hearing this dreamy, languid, slow-building slow-burner was it reminded me of a few tracks from Scritti Politti's 1999 comeback album, Anomie & Bonhomie. (I told you it was an obscure reference. Check out "Brushed With Oil, Dusted With Powder" to hear what I mean. I don't mean the early-'80s Scritti Politti; I mean the smooth adult pop of their later incarnation.) The more obvious reference that came to me nanoseconds later was "Diamonds & Pearls"-era Prince. And maybe some Justin Timberlake, or the incredibly underrated '90s alt-pop band Self (look them up too). And the hypnotic, slinky instrumentation even brings to mind Adam's iconic "Ring Of Fire" performance from back in the day. Sophisticated, sleek, and sultry, this mix of pop, electronica, and blue-eyelinered soul (which was co-written by Sam "Black & Gold" Sparro, who worked on Adam's darkly vampy FYE B-side "Voodoo") sounds like little else on the radio right now. Which, in my opinion, is a very good thing. "Underneath" - This haunting ballad may not promise the sexyfuntimes of "Cuckoo" and "Trespassing," but the wintry song serves as the flipside of those summery party anthems, showcasing Adam at his most stripped and vulnerable. This is the track that really trespasses on Adam's psyche, so to speak. "Everybody wants to talk about a freak/No one wants to dig that deep/Let me take you underneath," he keens, delivering a vocal every bit as passionate and powerful as FYE's "Soaked" while somehow sounding restrained in a way he hasn't sounded since he game-changingly sang "Mad World" and "Tracks Of My Tears" on "Idol." Everyone of course knows Adam for his over-the-top persona and glass-shattering glory notes--and trust me, he hits some seriously glorious notes here--but the overall effect on this track is unexpectedly intimate and fragile, as opposed to bombastic and campy. Check your arms for goosebumps after listening. And check this space for a two-part exclusive interview with Adam about these and other Trespassing tracks, coming soon!
