That would be so great if QAL were to perform at the Queen's Jubilee. That would be another honor and accomplishment for Adam. On a different note, they have had a lot of Idols on to mentor this season but the ones with less star power were lumped together on one show. They had very little screen time. But now they are bringing on the more accomplished ones to have their own mentoring segments. Gabby will have one this season like Adam had for Elvis and Queen Nights and Carrie had for Country night on past seasons. They are also going to have alums duet together on a show one night (Cook/Kris, Jordin/Ruben, Scotty/Lauren Alina). Would not be surprised if Carrie is on at some point with a performance slot but not a duet with a group of other alums. She is a star and their star's get to shine with prominent placements. I have no doubt that if Adam had new music, he would be on to mentor a segment of his own and also get a performance slot of his own. Kelly will not be on cause she is contracted to NBC for The Voice and her talk show. Idol is ancient history to me, but when Adam is on in some capacity, I watch. Seems like a lot of Idol alums are getting their little moments to perform or mentor. It would be nice if Adam got to do it, too. There was a period of time when he appeared on the show every year in some way. If he is on this year (and I doubt it), he should get his own spot. Adam was on Idol most every year on FOX Idol. ABC has been a different beast. They have not seemed all that interested in alums. They have been on for 5 years but Adam and Carrie were the only ones to mentor and perform there and with substantial air time. Other alums played only minor parts. But this is the 20th year and their house mentor moved on this season. So they pulled in many alums (as substitutions) that they likely would have otherwise continued to ignore. My guess is Adam did not want to participate with nothing new to show tho he likely could have. And he has not generally been there with a lot of group alum Idol stuff so unlikely interested at this time, imo. Some of those alums are never on network tv so of course they would jump at any chance. But for the 5 years that Idol has been on ABC, the only ones they use as Idol stars in promotion every year would be Carrie, Kelly, Adam, Gabby and Jhud.

Once Shosh confirmed Adam would not be appearing on Idol this season, I stopped caring about Idol, at least for this year. I suspect if he'd really wanted to make an appearance this season, he'd be there, new music or not - it isn't like Idol didn't slap his image on their promo as much as possible. It could be he's more interested in preparing for his Say Gay minitour and the QAL tour than carving out time for Idol. I would have liked to see him make an appearance, but I can't say I care all that much that he isn't. As for the Platinum Jubilee concert, it certainly sounds likely QAL will be there. As wonderful as the QAL affiliation has been for Adam when it comes to money, exposure and prestige, the incredible experiences he's had as a result of that collaboration are absolutely priceless - the Oscar performance, the Kiev concert, the major festival appearances, the world travel to amazing places, TSMGO documentary, and so on, and so on. If the Platinum Jubilee concert happens for QAL, that will be yet another priceless, once-in-a-lifetime experience for him.

That was a very good interview for Adam. Well balanced and covered his solo and QAL career. I liked it when the interviewer set Adam up with praise for his contribution to his community. And it was wonderful to hear Adam accept it. And not use his time to promote another who neither needed the promotion and who never gives credit or acknowledgement to anyone else for helping with the advancement.

I thought it was a very good interview, too. The guy was full of praise but he kept the interview on track and covered a lot of ground. Adam was his amazingly charming self and gave us a bunch of his little laughs. And I agree, lurleene. Adam accepted the praise graciously and go off on a tangent about other people's contributions. He deserves the compliments himself! Lovely interview. Can't wait for these shows to start!
