Kristen has a voice that compliments Adam…really well….as his opener! 👍

That was quite interesting. The play between variety and similarity must be a difficult path to walk. This quote struck me a couple of different ways when it comes to Adam. My take would be that WWFM which did well was not the BIG hit that would stabilize his body of work but that was the way the label took it, hence the choice of same-same singles from the second album. In my opinion he was still in the variety phase and needed something relatable but different. So back to my oft stated, Shady should have been the choice of single! I will believe that until the cows come home. Ballads would always be a staple but I think his instincts were crying for something else. I am looking forward to the musical theater era actually. I can imagine it going gangbusters. I am not so sure about his musical though (sorry), we'll see. I hope it's good and that our country doesn't become so conservative that it will not allow for a glam-rocker story.

That's as far as the excitement goes for me with regards to the song. A few years later, I agree that Shady should have been THE song, but I think the label was too nervous about it. Too bad as for me they picked the least inspiring songs from a tremendous follow-up album to be released as singles, and they trusted Bruno Mars (NCOE) over Nile Rogers (Shady). As I said before, Adam may have been ahead of the current "flavor", but they should have trusted him.

I love Shady too. And it would have had the novelty factor!
