It sure does look like Adam is with Warners Records UK. I assume this company is related to Warner Records US, at least in an "umbrella" company sort of way. This is great news because the US labels that Adam has been with in the past have not worked very hard for him IMO. Also, Adam is very high-profile in the UK, due to QAL, of course, but also because he has done lots of TV there and is in the public eye. His media profile in the US is not as high. Hope Warner UK will support him well and get his music out there as it should be.
I really like Hillary Clinton's comment. Our country is going through an incredible upheaval, as significant as any in our history.

The Warner thing must be pretty significant as not only Adam but his team are putting it out there.
Keeping fingers crossed, whatever it's for lol...maybe the new concept album for the musical?

I know when Adam was with Warner US, his music was also released by Warner South Africa, Australia, Germany and Warner labels in many other countries and charted on radio stations in other countries. It was the same with RCA. They had labels around the world who released his music. There was a big drop off everywhere with Empire. So whatever Warner UK can do is good news and better distribution I believe. And if they can get his music into other genres and not limited to pop that would be a step up. His music is just as diverse as some of these other artists who get to chart, compete and be heard in several different genres at the same time. Velvet for sure fit into different genres as did his other albums.
But is it so nice to see so much about Adam and QAL. The Florida/Atlanta concerts were a wonderful start and break from news about fun with friends, lol.

Not gonna lie, I'm happy to see Adam apparently back with a major - interesting that it's Warner Bros., but I had the impression that he left on good terms. I'm grateful that Empire gave him the opportunity to really control the creation of Velvet, which is probably exactly what he needed at that point in time, but I'm just as happy that he left. Pandemic notwithstanding, I really have my doubts Empire was in the position to support Adam's work, beyond its creation. I have no idea what WB's expectations may be for the concept album, but the label is going into business with Adam with open eyes. It knows first hand about the rewards and challenges Adam brings to the table, so I doubt it will kick him out if the album doesn't go gold or if radio isn't in the cards. |
