Random thought.
I have read many comments about how the 2020 → 2022 wait was well worth it. How people have hung on to their tickets in anticipation and how happy they are now.
My thought was for Brian. He is up front about his mental health issues and has an empathetic heart. The devastation of illness and death from covid, the lockdowns, the fear, all of it was hard. Add on top of that a serious physical health scare and his age, well 'things' could have gone a lot of different ways.
But, and here is my thought, all the people holding on to their tickets and investing in the joy to come may have been a thread that saw Brian through to 2022. I hope so. I hope he is nurtured by the tremendously joyful emotional release these concerts have brought to so many. And if as he says, "Sometimes I’m looking at my fingers in the middle of a solo and wondering what they’re doing!" just know that those fingers, as imperfect as they can sometimes be, are always bringing happiness.
