"superfluous wailing"? I'm gonna put that down to something getting lost in translation. Haha, that's what I was thinking. It's always hard to know the exact meaning when they're translated from another language....something always gets lost. No such think as "superfluous wailing" on WWTLF. I noticed some extra melismas in the very latest WWTLF. I could live without them. The IOW performance remains the gold standard that has never been reached since. However, I don't want any more people to die in violent shootings just to inspire a better performance... Sorry, got too dark here. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melisma

So for those who can tell instruments apart, is this just the three of them or is the rest of the band playing too?

Nessun Dorma from the stage box Instant goosebumps and chills...can't tell you how many times I've watched this. I think the first one was the best, IMO. Maybe because it was just so unexpected. The 2nd one he was busy with the sound guy and maybe he didn't walk out as far.

Like the Love Kills at the IHR performance in 2014. In the case of ND, I feel like the Vincero! finale was stronger and the rest of the aria had longer melodic lines in the first performance. It was so good I cannot watch the second performance. We are SO spoiled!

I remember back when they started together that there were some rumors that another guitar played along to back up Brian as he was having trouble with the finger work. Don't hear anything like that these days. He and Roger are in amazing shape.

People were commenting that Brian used a second guitarist for the Q+PR tour - he was fully visible. They noticed QAL did not need one. In fact, both Freddie and Spike have played a second guitar occasionally in the 80s, so it is not a bad thing, it can help improve the live sound. Nowadays the KORG synthesizer Spike uses can add ANYTHING to the soundscape, including orchestra instruments, extra choir voices, etc. Technology has adavanced greatly in the 21st century
