So he's meeting up with his Warner Bros UK people. Hope there are good plans in the making. I know I am beating a dead horse, lol. But I sure hope this label will go for more than just pop for Adam this time. Miley had a #1 rock album in 2020. Demi had a #1 Rock album and 1 Alt album last month. They have come to realize they don't really fit with the rappers and younger pop acts and all things Harry Styles nowadays so they are finding new territory and more mature styles/sounds. Adam has done pop, pop-rock and rock his whole career but his labels never tried on these other charts. IDGI! Would these pop divas really be more believable than Adam Lambert, the Queen frontman? It doesn't have to be hard hard rock to qualify. But they are smart and have set themselves up to be considered in the rock and alt award categories that are not as out of reach as pop (which They did enjoy and excel for years). I agree. Other artists have had good luck with different labels and there's no reason why Adam can't, too. If this partnership pans out, he might FINALLY get a label that promotes and backs him with creativity and new ideas. Lord knows he has the talent and the cred. Adam seems to be very popular in the UK, with the Queen connection and all. And they get him on TV over there pretty often, with things like Starstruck and more. The US kind of keeps him on the back burner unless there is some special event or something. I hope Clash of the Cover Bands gains more attention and does well.

The intro clip with the Queen was such a departure from most versions I have seen of the her over my life time. So light hearted, and humorous. Quite a coup to have the Rock On clip associated with the last event celebrating her reign. And an honour for all those who participated in her honour.
Just hit me…I presume our national anthem…will now be “God Save the King”.

I thought Adam was shopping a label to put out his rock musical on which he is collaborating with others. That seems like a different genre than pop, or even anything close to what Demi or Miley did. I think there was a hint about another project as well. But it sounded like Adam would be bringing his direction to a label, and not a situation where a label was going to push him in another direction. I think Adam has enough financial independence derived from his Queen role to be able to follow his artistic direction. He's posted in the past about not paying attention to marketing algorithms in favor of developing his art.

It seems like every time Adam says he is going for something different, it ends up in the pop category. Velvet was very different and really good. And the critics were calling it alt, rock, funk and soul but it ended up being submitted in pop for Grammy consideration. Being Indie, I did not expect him to get a nod (tho some indie artists do get a chance when submitted in other genres) but there was ZERO chance he would get one in pop, imo. Too many who get massive recognition and radio play in that arena for Adam to even be considered. And he stopped trying for top 40. It is all about the rappers, pop divas, youngsters and those who dance better than they sing. But Adam did say there would be an album for his rock musical so hopefully he can get in other areas. Many of those less versatile seem to cross genres with ease. I'm just tired of seeing him fight a losing battle with pop when he has so much more to offer. Don't care about the sales, which are so important in pop, but would love to see him get some recognition in one of the less competitive genres. Gospel and country are out, lol.

Adam may be very wealthy and have all kinds of artistic integrity about his "art" and all that. But I'm sure he'd love for his music to be HEARD and for his music to SELL. No shame in that. It's fine to write and record really good music (as good as anybody's on the charts, IMO), but it's not very satisfying to go to all that effort and expense and then not have it heard by a larger audience. Adam knows he is lucky to have the "Queen cushion," but getting major attention for his own music (once again) would be a real boost to his cred.
Hope Warner Bros UK helps him in some significant way.

When I said don't care about the sales, I only meant that some artists and some indie artists can chart, get radio play and received nominations in genres outside of pop (and a bunch of dancers) without the huge sales. And they have cred and recognition. Trying to compete in pop just seems like a dead end for Adam but he should be heard and recognized somewhere. Even when he was with a major before, he could have competed in areas, along with pop, like so many others do. They were not limited and boxed into just one youth oriented category. And I think his music was much better or as good as some.
