All one has to do to realize that Adam can "dummy down" his voice is to listen to Take One. >:( Interesting convo about Sauli and Adam and I realize it is just speculation. We are just "projecting" our experiences and what we think onto them. However, the one presumption that kind of hits me the wrong way is to assume that the Helsinki fight was Adam's fault and that Sauli had to do damage control with his family! Yeah, I think Adam, as always, took responsibility for his part, but as all of us over the age of 15 know, this kind of thing is seldom one-sided. But if Adam chose to be the public face of the situation, so be it. And being that it wasn't an "abuse" issue, I'm sure Sauli's parents were willing to listen, evaluate, and accept Ådam and Sauli's resolution of the situation . Adam HAD to take the public responsibility. He has a lot more to lose in the public eye than Sauli. As a marketing person, I think that this far they have handled this very well. If you screw up, owning up to it and showing that you have learnt from it gets people on your side. Denying things that DID happen (except correcting erroneous reports), declining to talk about them or behaving like you don't own up to it or you didn't learn anything from the experience (E.g. Chris Brown) is off-putting to most people. We need to remember that there is the public persona and the private persona. We have seen how they have handled this publicly in order to project the correct image. I am not saying that it's a FALSE image. But it's the right image in terms of impacting the perceptions of the public. This is important to Adam's career. Plus, it's him who gets to answer to the questions on this to the media outlets. If he said in interviews that well it wasn't really my fault, that would look just bad. Even if it was true and he wanted to say that.

I'll bet he deletes it within 15 minutes... Ha It might be in response to the snide remarks JD made about Adam's hair on Queen appearance. Whatever, turnabout is fair play. I actually think Adam's being sincere!

Thank you for saying exactly what I thought all along. Well, we can speculate of reasoning yes, but I don't think change in behaviour is speculation. In Sauli at least. As said in my post I cannot read Adam. But sometimes I think they behave like real partnes in crime, sharing a common secret. :D. And I think that Sauli needed to manage what happened towards his family even if he had been the "guity" person ( I don't think there was one). If you have had at least in some scale as wild youth as I had, something like this could easily had happened to any of us. Just think how it had felt in that place, and then add the global publicity on the top. How bad "moral hangover"? And then next you need to meet the parents. Must have far worse for Adam than for Sauli who was in his own territory. So IMO naturally it was Sauli who needed to navigate them out. But coming back to speculation, it's fun to think of options, from new deep commitment to publicity action, and we know nothing ;D. I'm not going to speculate about their convo. I just have to say one thing I'm having on my mind. I can't imagine how difficult it had to be for Adam to meet Sauli's parents after the incident. He went to Finland to spend Christmas with his love's family and things went wrong....I was thinking of him all the time, sending him all the positive energy being really afraid about the future of their relationship, although it isn't my business at all. I remember those times when Adam was single and he sometimes seemed to be really depressed and sad. Don't want to see him like that anymore!! When Adam met Sauli all things got better and he suddenly started glowing. There were times I used to be intolerant to homosexuals but Adam has changed all my thinking. Thanks to him I became an open-minded person and that's the reason, apart from his immense talent why I adore him. I wish him all the best. It's obvious that Sauli makes Adam happy. There is one more thing that makes me sad about all this incident. There wasn't any mention of Adam in our magazines , or very little until after the incident. Why the heck didn't they notice that he is a GRAMMY NOMINEE?! IMHO also from his recent interviews it has been obvious that Adam regrets the incident and he would be the happiest person if he could just reset it from his memory. I really heard the sorrow in his voice while speaking. I ♥♥ Adam and not only because of his beautiful blue eyes.

Hmm... having read through the thread I didn't see any blaming of Adam in people's posts? Having visited and lived with the in-laws overseas myself, it really is a chance where your native partner gets to shine and help you navigate the different cultural waters and eddies (let alone the language barrier). Having a somewhat embarrassing joint intro to the nation and extended family just adds another layer of mutual support needed (and apparently) received. I also have to say that for myself actually immersing yourself in your partners culture--in their country, family, history is so so important to getting to understand and appreciate them on a deeper level. We are where we're going, but also where we've come from. I think gliztripper said it really well: How one responds in crisis says a lot--to us and to Adam. -------- It's love! Not "falling" in love. Even better-- "landing on your feet" in love.
