As other's have said, there is always a motive behind Adam's tweets. Possibly he was feeling sorry for Durbin and mending fences? Maybe he was being sarcastic and getting in other dig?! IDK But what he certainly wasn't doing, was being honest. Adam says he is always honest. I read this as "your performance was really good tonight.......compared to all the rest" Ok, here's an example of a native English speaker saying something "wrong". You guys are right--Adam is very honest. But ya know what I mean, right?

I actually think Adam's being sincere! I absolutely think he was being sincere. I think he was just being nice. He's a hella better human being than I am. (Had second hand embarrassment for "durbs").... Wasn't impressed with JD's curt "thank-you" either. : (Okay, I despise the guy... I really, REALLY do. I'm not proud of it, but it's not going to change. Haha!)

I'm, just skimming here, so forgive me. I didn't want to lose my question because it just struck me. cassie, what the hell is a NJ nasal twang? I get what you're talking about with voices. I grew up in NJ and totally hate the way I used to talk (sorry fellow Jersey girls). I just never thought of it as a nasal twang. Twang = country Accents and the way people pronounce things have always fascinated me. Why do British and Australian singers sound American when they sing? I'm talkin' to you Elton John, Mick Jagger, Keith Urban. What about ABBA? Anyway, I'd love an example of someone singing/talking with a NJ nasal twang. Maybe the NJ twang thing is why I used to listen to and sing country music? LOL -- I grew up in NJ, too. The truth is there isn't only one NJ accent. I think the one most associated with NJ is what my family called the "northern NJ" accent -- the way the characters in "The Sopranos" spoke: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Al0kvZPBiLM(Maybe this is the nasal twang that Cassie meant?) I grew up in the southern part of the state near the coast, and my sisters and I and our friends didn't have that accent. In fact, when I moved to another state, people were surprised to hear that I was from NJ. The only giveaway was that I pronounced the word "or-ange" as "ahr-ange", which seems to be peculiar to NJ (or so I have been told). But that's gone now -- I've lived in CA for so long that I now say "or-ange" like everyone else.

Adam is being magnanimous as always. I think he is very sincere too in his comment about JD.
Me? Can.Not.Stand.Him. Maybe I should follow BB's lead and be kinder. JD's fans though are something else. When he had that disastrous performance during a Falcon's game, there was a huge fanwar between the two fandoms. It got really ugly. What I did not like were his fans' comments that Atlantans were rude, uneducated and there were even racist comments. If your ears can stand it without bleeding, you tube his performance where he was booed off the stage.

I actually think Adam's being sincere! I absolutely think he was being sincere. I think Adam gives extra credit for effort. Durbin throws everything he's got into his performances. I don't think he appreciates a timid performer. (This is just me projecting. :

Maybe the NJ twang thing is why I used to listen to and sing country Sorry. Just my attempt to describe the Jersey Girls sound. It sounds very nasal to my ears, as do many country singers. Hence the use of the word twang. Probably the wrong word all together. But, you know the sound I mean? Like Fran Whatshername from the Nanny? Fingernails on chalkboard to me. Oh, maybe no one knows that sensation either these days. What with white boards and computer screens. I sometimes feel obsolete. Hey, I worked for a print publisher and had to triple type something to get justified margins back in the day! I like to think I'm pleasantly anachronistic ;D Thx Reihmer for my avi, but it doesn't look as good as your sample. Now, I have to go back and find my old one.

Nothing's happening today, and still I'm having so much fun. Adam never stops surprising. This JD comment caught me by surprise, and I still don't know what to make of it. But I've been having so much fun with it, I'm still amused.
