Yes, I am very aware of the symptoms of Aspberger's. I've written and edited many articles and interviewed a lot of Aspie students over the past five years. I know that they do have a challenge and most all who I've encountered (and their challenges are vastly varied from person to person) go through training to learn how to process what is not occurring naturally (cue-reading, etc.). It's continuous challenge, however, this is a path HE CHOSE and he had to know before going into a situation like American Idol and aspire to a career as a public figure, this was going to be under scrutiny.

As someone said earlier, Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder's music was not given a free pass because of their disabilities. Nor did they ever ask for it, to my knowledge.

There are obviously issues with his ability to process cues. All the reason he should be relying heavily on his support system. His wife took his Twitter away for a while; it would appear he's taken it back. Nobody in this life gets a free pass, especially in the very public, competitive world of entertainment.

If he is getting flak for bad performances (he has) or spouting off and those close to him have not impressed upon him that he might have some work to do, then that's on him. He's a professional. He's getting paid for these gigs and I think he should be honor bound to give the best performance he can. If he's not and he's refusing to listen to those around him, that doesn't warrant a free pass, IMO.

If you click on this article (sorry, got sidetracked w/work and see that it's been discussed) that 4Ms posted, it was ridiculous, IMO. It insinuated Adam was a coward for not coming out with his "neurodiversity," (uh, are we classifying gay as a neurodiversity now ???) Yet James was heroic for his "very classy response to Lambert's dumb statements." : : LOL, Ellen took the video down though.

One person's perception, of course, but quite a disconnect as far as I'm concerned.
