I think he was just being nice. He's a hella better human being than I am. (Had second hand embarrassment for "durbs").... Wasn't impressed with JD's curt "thank-you" either. : (Okay, I despise the guy... I really, REALLY do. I'm not proud of it, but it's not going to change. Haha!) You do know that despising someone is just a wasted emotion? You are the only one that feels it. It isn't eating away at Durbin. You are better off feeling nothing. You're right about my feelings having no impact on Durbin, but I can't agree with "better off feeling nothing". That's not how I roll....bores the shit outta me. ;D Of course, everyone is welcome to disagree with my opinion. (LOL! This is becoming something of an ATOP mantra )

I like to think of people here at Adamtopia as having good sportsmanship. i.e. being gracious about those who are not at Adam's talent level. I like to think of people here as that little bit more empathetic and more capable of putting themselves in other people's shoes. I also really like to think that, considering we all have weaknesses, we do not pick on others like so many at other forums do (some are like lions in a Roman arena, or vultures in the desert) Huge kudos to Durbin for his fight and his courage to get where he is. He has a mild social problem. It is mild but it is very real. Just as Adam is wired the way he has been wired. Durbin is wired the way he is and had no choice in the matter. This is a personal request, not an Adamtopia requirement. Please lets not be like the others out there who pick on those not at Adam's level, and the more vulnerable, but rather be the one's who get it. Durbin is more vulnerable. I am not feeling sorry for him. It is a fact. It is truly unsportsmanlike to pick on people in general. But when you represent the winner, the best of the best, which Adam is when it comes to vocals, being and entertainer, and social abilities, all the more reason to be kind and gracious about those who are not at that level. Another lesson we can learn from Adam himself. I'm not as evolved as Adam, but I do try (most of the time)!!! That said, Durbs is not good and he is foolish if he doesn't try to improve!!

I'm glad Ryan will have adam on his show, but I'll be happier if he actually spins him regularly. Baby steps I guess. That would be really nice. Baby Steps...

asashesscatter.com/2012/01/13/healing-voice/Healing Voice By tepeswrr An Open Letter to Adam Lambert By W.R.R. Synth notes, a voice, a heartbeat beneath the drums. From the first notes, I took a deep breath, and it was the last breath I managed for awhile. Better Than I Know Myself came into my life, bloomed in my mind, at a bad moment. I wanted to share this with you, to let you know what your music, your voice, and this beautiful new song has meant to me. I wanted to let you know how it helped me. ... At home, I went straight to bed, got a band-aid on my forehead and tried to return to normal. I’ve been in the habit of listening to a collection of interviews of yours, especially the Donor’s Choose series, to calm me when I need to sleep and I’m afraid of nightmares. I promise you I’m not some crazed stalker person, if I ever was in the same room with you, I’d run and hide. It’s just that your voice is soothing. You sound relaxed and friendly in those interviews, and it’s comforting to hear. That day I was too upset though and wasn’t calming down. My family was afraid I’d have another panic attack. My sister had your new song, Better Than I Know Myself, and she sent it to my boyfriend to play it for me. I was expecting the interviews. The music started, and I knew it wasn’t anything I’d heard before. Then I realized what it was just before you began to sing. The song is beautiful. I know you’ve been told that a lot already by more important people than me. What others don’t tell you enough is how healing your music and your voice is for those in pain. I speak to other fans often who agree with me, that you’ve helped us feel better, even on the worst of days. Your music has given some of us hope, too – just when we were running out of hope. My boyfriend told me the lyrics meant a lot to him, like you understood how he feels, and he said it was like it was written for us, from him to me. I listened to it on repeat for hours until I could finally fall asleep. I listen to it often, on good days and bad days; and I often wonder if anybody has told you what you mean to them, told you that your voice heals wounds of the heart, the spirit, and the soul. You help us dance, but on bad days, on hard days, you help us breathe, even when you take our breath away. Thank you for sharing your gift. I’m going to listen and breathe, until I’m strong enough again… to dance. ~ ~ ~ © W.R.R. 1/6/2012 For Adam Lambert, my stepping stone; and for all those who have felt the healing spirit in his unrivaled voice. We are still here, and we are listening. This entry was posted on Friday, January 13th, 2012 at 3:44 pm and posted in Adam Lambert, Child Abuse, Crossroads, Essay. You can follow any responses to this entry through the RSS 2.0 feed. That's really beautiful. So amazing how deeply he affects people and to have the gift of a voice like that which can actually cause a chemical/metabolic shift in people (which I totally believe it does). I can so understand the mythology of sirens now and how beautiful singers throughout history were often kept in the rulers' courts, etc. Going back to the discussion about British<--->American accents and singers, I remember vividly being blown away as a child when I heard Elton John or the Beatles speak for the first time. I heard their music everywhere and was extremely familiar with it, then when I was maybe 5 or 6, heard an interview with one or the other (don't remember) for the first time and I was soooo confused. I could barely understand a word they said. It was probably my first time hearing a British accent and could never reconcile how different their speaking voices were from their singing voices (accents, actually). This probably also spurred my lifetime love of a British accent though, which I'm still a sucker for. I did later see an interview with I think Mick Jagger (or might have been Elton??) and he was asked why British singers sing in an American accent and he did this hilarious rendition of a song in a British accent.

blogs.ajc.com/radio-tv-talk/2012/01/13/my-picks-of-the-25-most-successful-idol-contestants-of-all-time-2012-edition/My picks of the 25 most successful ‘Idol’ contestants of all time, 2012 edition11:13 am January 13, 2012, by Rodney Ho For the third year, here’s my list of the 25 most successful “Idol” contestants to date. I based my rankings on album sales, radio airplay, movie and TV roles and Broadway stints, as well as name recognition and basic buzz with a totally unfair bias toward recent performance. And if I happen to like them more personally, well, that helps, too. This is not scientific in the least so please mock and attack me at will. 5- Adam Lambert (5) Some folks will scoff that I placed him this high again. The season 8 runner up still has only one album under his belt and the most headlines he’s gotten this past year was a drunken fight with his boyfriend that landed him in jail last month. But he still have a huge following internationally and his next album this year will give us a sign if he’s a keeper. Given his outsized personality and intelligence, I have confidence he’ll be around a long time going forward. Even casual “Idol’ fans know who he is and that does matter in this fickle pop culture world.
