Are we sure this is legit? The Ryan seacrest site being linked to is a fansite, I think, not seacrest's official site. ETA: oops, didn't realize there was audio. I can't listen right now but I'm sure someone has. :-)

Adam was on E! News last night. Uploaded by SnapCracklyPop on Jan 12, 2012 "E! was referring to different celebrities who have been roommates before, and they mentioned Kris Allen and Adam Lambert." I posted about this yesterday but nobody noticed. Thanks for bringing the vid over.

WARNING: Esoteric, philosophic dip into the deep end, cuz, I don’t have any peas, frozen or otherwise. Feel free to scroll. Any neuroscientists on this forum? I have a question. Is the human brain built in such a way as to naturally think in terms of compare/contrast? Yes/no, on/off, hero/villain/ like/dislike, black/white? It seems to be ubiquitous in our society. We certainly see it in Adamland with poll after meaningless poll about which Idol is better/best? Which song do you vote for? Who has the best hair? Guy next door or the guyliner? It is also manifest in sports; my team is better than your team, this guy is the best quarterback, etc. And all the competition shows on TV: singing, dancing, cooking, fashion designing, losing weight, surviving in the wilderness, and bitching. Is that just the way we are hard-wired? If so, I suspect our Adam is wired a bit differently in that respect as well as others. When asked, “What is your favorite….” we have seen him, time and again, struggle and say he doesn’t have favorites. I don’t think that is just Adam being political. I think often he doesn’t perceive things as black and white, or even shades of gray (which is really only different combinations of black and white). He perceives things in technicolor, in rainbows, in diversity. Because of this, he has eclectic tastes and talents. He finds something appealing and positive and worthy in many things he sees and hears. And that open perspective is part of what makes him such a great artist. I wonder if that is a commonality among many outstanding artists and creative people? This ability to appreciate without putting a pre-determined value on things and people. And I wonder if Adam ever is puzzled by the black and white thinking and behavior of those around him, including his passionate fans. Just thinking. This reminds me of a comment someone at Adamtopia posted about the creative personality which referenced an article by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. I don't know who it was who posted this so if you know please tell me I'd like to add the name to my doc. www.psychologytoday.com/articles/199607/the-creative-personalityIn the article Csikszentmihalyi talks about the psychological androgyny found in creative people as a concept much wider than sexual androgeny. He explains that psychological androgyny refers to a person's ability to be at the same time aggressive and nurturant, sensitive and rigid, dominant and submissive, regardless of gender. Such that a psychologically androgynous person in effect doubles his or her repertoire of responses. Creative individuals are more likely to have not only the strengths of their own gender but those of the other one, too... Perhaps this psychological androgyny also widens one's view and breaks down some of the barriers of more dichotomous (is this a word?) thinking. But that doesn't answer your question about the neurological differences in the brain of a highly creative person. I do know that trauma can increase black and white thinking through an overactive limbic system/fight or flight response.
