Me too!!! The dance is just beautiful! International Rumba was my favorite Latin dance when I was taking lessons & competing. I find myself watching the dance closely to recognize the moves and who is leading; mostly Nikita, but they look to switch leading a few times. Nikita is a real cutie! And Carlos spins so beautifully! Carlos has an absolutely stunning figure for dancing. Yes, he does! His technique as the follower is just exquisite! Including hip action, arm styling, and playing coy & flirty like a good follower. Nikita is great at playing the passionate & fiery leader.
Now I get technical for anyone who is interested in that aspect of dance.
There are 2 different styles of Rumba, American and International, with the International style being much slower, about the same tempo as American Bolero. There are some basic moves that are done in the International style of Rumba that are not really done in American style, one of those being the "fan". The leader and follower execute very different steps in the fan. At 1:30-1:34 in the official video, Carlos does a fan. Then at 1:34-1:37 they change places and Nikita does a fan.
In the fan, they switch from right knee & hip forward to left knee & hip forward before stepping towards partner. This "switch" action is done by the follower and allows a forward step on the left foot. This type of "switch" is done far more often by the follower than by the leader, at least in the basic syllabus moves. How to do this "switch" hip action is a very major part of studying International Rumba. There are various techniques, some considered more advanced than others. If you watch closely, you can see that Carlos's head barely changes level when he does the switch. He absorbs the switch movement in his abdominal core and hips which is considered very advanced. But notice that Nikita's head changes level more than Carlos's as Nikita uses more of the balls of his feet to accomplish the switch and less of his abdominal core, which is less advanced. This is just one reason why Carlos does the follower part so exquisitely!

Oooh, that's interesting, DancyGeorgia. I'm not a dancer, I have 2 left feet, but I love to watch dancing. I especially love watching videos of John Lindo on Youtube. He's a plus sized dude, and I swear his feet just skim over the floor, he's so amazing. He does swing dancing mostly (I think that's what it's called).

Yes, I have meet John Lindo at Swing dance events. Think I have even danced with him at least once during social dancing at an event. He is also at some Country events and I think also DJs. I was very active in the Swing, Country & Ballroom dance world for many years.

I think I read he started out in country and that's how he discovered swing? He's a pretty interesting guy, does a little bit of everything. I'm just super jealous of people that can dance and move like that. "Grace" has never been my middle name lol.
