I imagine Adam has been to all of it and likes to creatively recreate his past. The FYE vid, I assume, was a take-off on the underground clubs. IIHY forest vid was recreating the radical faeries tradition (although not nude) that is common among gays. What are the radical faeries tradition parties like? After this description of IIHY video I pictured something a bit like this, but with maybe cooler clothes. |

I am pleased to read about the new musical director. First, I love his jazz and classical background. That training gives a HUGE theoretical and technical base for a musician. The deeper this base, the more creative and flexible one can be with the music.
Second, a musical director has to be a leader and a communicator. I don't know anything about Cam, but she seemed to kinda fade into the background on and off stage. When I heard she was taking on the role of musical director I was surprised and a little disappointed. She is adequate on the keys, but, as many have said, Zack was more interesting and creative. This guy looks to be creative and outgoing.
Third, I think bringing in someone new as a leader of the musicians is smart. When you take someone who has been a "buddy" with the other members of the backing band, and elevate them to a new position over the others, it can cause friction and discomfort. Better to have someone come in at that position with credentials and no pre-conceived ideas about the band members and work closely with Adam to create his vision.
Just my opinion. I know nothing about the personnel in Adam's band, really.

Maybe guys, he is musical director for the evening. I don't think Cam would give up that position, as it pays more money. Did Adam ever say Cam was his new musical director? I can't remember him saying anything about his musical director for ERA 2. No, Adam never said Cam was music director. I think this guy has a lot more tools to use for this song. I have been wondering how they would duplicate the sound of the single with just Cam, Tommy, Ashley, and Isaac.... but with the addition of this guy, now I can picture it! |
