With all the youtube views and Spotify streams, I would be curious to know if Adam's FYE album and some of his singles like IIHY are now platinum. Even Ghost town? They were close years ago so they must be by now. I often see songs from Carrie, Kelly, Scotty and Daughtry and some others meet certain milestones years later but we never hear of ANY updates for Adam's work. I know some have said it costs money to certify but Adam is way richer than Daughtry and Scotty etc. so I doubt it is a money thing. I would think it looks good on an artists record to have those certifications. And FYE was my favorite album too before Velvet took it over, lol. |

The problem with the cost of certification is that EVERYONE who is credited on the album has to get a plaque and those are paid for by the artist (or record label ultimately charged to the artist) and FYE album and the songs on it had a LOT of people credited. If Adam chooses not to spend the money then that is entirely up to him. The benefit does not nearly approach the potential cost. |

It is great the first two albums still get traction. When Adam left the contract arranged through Idol…is my memory correct in that he gave up all rights etc. to those albums/ songs/ royalties, so he could get out of that contract. I remember there were a few pictures of Sauli pouring / drinking some very expensive champagne at the time. Adam wanted out…and his contract was diff than some other American Idol contestants given contracts. He was out from the binds of the contract but also gave up a lot.
For that reason…I play some of the older album songs but concentrate on play songs from his newer albums…so he gets a few more pennies in his pocket.

I agree that it is his money and I have heard that before about the cost. But is that the reason or just fan speculation that it is too costly? I know Kelly had a few that were not certified too but many that were. But I don't think I have ever heard Adam say anything one way or the other. Not a big deal at this point but was just curious, lol. |
