"Almond has stated that he dislikes being pigeon-holed as "a 'gay' artist", saying that such a label "enables people to marginalise your work. I am a singer who happens to be gay".
That is a wonderful quote, happy. It really is not fair to pigeon-hole an exceptional artist. Celebrate their talent and accomplishments, yes. But don't keep them in one box unless that is where they want to be. I just found out that one of the men on one of my favorites soaps is gay. I have been watching him for twenty years and never knew or even thought about it. He plays a married straight man on the show. And apparently he was always out in real life but I just never heard it cause I was not following his career outside the show, lol. He is a really good actor and has played this role very well.
I thought Adam's musical was about a rock and roll person. Maybe I misread that because he said it was a rock opera and there would be rock and roll music. Many thought Jobriath until Adam said the person was alive. But that interview could have been a misquote. And I can't remember but did he say the person was gay?

Marc Almond—— this man lives to make music…so many hits, and interesting twists and turns with the diff genres of music. Learned so much about him from Wikipedia. Well worth googling This song is iconic. Never really listened to the words…just loved the Tainted Love beat etc.

Haha, Stampsgal, I always turned the radio off when that song came on. Sooooo repetitive, it drove me nuts. Had no idea who sang it though. I have no idea who Marc Almond is.

It is Remembrance Day in Canada which is commemorated across the nation. Today, we pay tribute to Canadian service members, past and present, for all they have done to keep us safe. At the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we observe two minutes of silence for the brave women and men who gave their lives in service of a better Canada – we are forever in their debt. 🍁

It's Veteran's Day here in the U.S. and I echo your sentiment.

Tainted Love is one of my guilty pleasures on the radio.
As my son would say, as he is a veteran of service abroad in wartime, Veteran's Day is for those who served and survived. Memorial Day is for those who have served and passed.
At 19, while a college freshman, he enlisted in Coast Guard Reserve. He chose to go into a deployable port security unit. He was called up as a sophomore to go to Kuwait, where the supplies for the rest of out military pass through, to secure the port.
He is still serving in the Reserve to protect the Port of New York.

svca Actually, the last bit was a statement from the Prime Minister. I forgot to add some quotation marks! LOL. But the sentiment is there. Several members of my family fought in both World Wars. Lest we forget.
