Good to know others are hearing the difference, too. As for the ear monitors, my guess is that he has become frustrated with them crapping out on him. If you notice, he has two big monitor speakers aimed directly at him, so he can hear himself and the mix. Since he wasn't planning on moving around the stage, they would serve and be more reliable. Maybe that's why he hardly moved away from the mic - had to stay close to the monitors? |

Rather than using the word "nerves" in explaining certain elements of this performance I prefer the word "adrenaline."
Semantics, perhaps, but it sounds more Adam-y to me.
I remember him talking about the adrenaline issues after the AMA's and I think this is the same thing.
I fell asleep before he came on, but rolled over about 1am and watched it on DVR.
Rolled over and watched it again around 2am, moved to spare bedroom so as not to bother hubby, and proceeded sleeping and rewatching until I finally gave up and got up around 4am when hubby did.
Then I blasted the mofo!
I think I will be a lazy housewife today and bert/nap bert/nap bert/nap all freaking day!
