queertyBowie’s thin white problem, the ultimate boy-crush anthem & more: Your weekly bop rewind Happy post-Thanksgiving food nap day, Queerty readers!
It’s been a week of recovering after the tragic events in Colorado Springs on Sunday that left us all reeling. Thankfully, we’ve had some good fun to distract us. A new White Lotus addition gave us an eyeful, Shangela gave her all on Dancing With the Stars, and we reminisced about a song that taught us what to truly be thankful for.
This week in queer music history was full of jams that piqued our gratitude as well. A spread of soul, pop, and the lightest of emo rock make this batch of tracks a set to remember.
From an American Idol to the popstar title, here’s your weekly bop rewind: “Whataya Want From Me” by Adam Lambert (November 20, 2009)www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1Fqn9du7xo
There’s a beautifully specific experience of being a young gay and staring out the school bus window while listening to this song that made you feel the weight of the gay rights movement directly on your shoulders. With his soaring vocals and undeserved runner-up placement on American Idol, Adam Lambert stormed the young millennial gays. This track was on every major pop radio station, banging on every closet in America, and slipping a thin guyliner pencil under the door. www.queerty.com/bowies-thin-white-problem-ultimate-boy-crush-anthem-weekly-bop-rewind-20221125

Trudeau is such a good sport (and very sexy IMO).
And that's all on a shallow note, so don't attack me with the politics lol.

Very nice write-up Queerty. Oh that was some of the best of Adam. He was gay and wore eyeliner better than most. But he was so talented, sexy, handsome and unapologetic about his sexuality but he was no stereotype, caricature or easy to dismiss. Tho some tried anyway to put him in that tired old box and keep him there with the lid on tight. He was the talk of the town, exciting and interesting without seeming to try so hard or being too OTT with antics. He was accomplished and successful. There was just something fluid and natural about him but he stood out effortlessly. It worked for his brand and he captured attention without the hey please look at me (or I can post a selfie while dressing up and doing/accomplishing nothing) that many find annoying or easy to dismiss. He was (is) a great role model and representation Inside and Outside his community. Of course, he is more mature and with more stature now but will be excited to see him take his career to the next level. And more Queen would be great too, lol.

Trudeau's appearance on Canada's Drag show says a lot about leaders, past and present, can set an positive example about how society can change itself for the better. Good for him!
Good for Eber for switching to Tribe! I know nothing about Tribe, but I do know that Twitter is going through an implosion. I hope Tribe is a good place that will allow plenty of healthy discussion news but will also make sure that blatant dishonesty from ruining it. I wonder what Adam will do?
