He's so much more relaxed on Ellen. JMHO. YMMV. Leno was a huge performance for him... the first one, first single, new band. Ellen would defintiely be more relaxed. Yep, more relaxed and I liked it better too. Wonder if we'll ever get any two riff endings alike...I hope not. The band looks and sounds great too. (After repeat watchings, I forced myself to check them out). |

Adam is so relaxed now... I kind of liked his Ellen version of BTIKM better... or maybe its because I am more relaxed now... Leno was like opening night jitters....
And .. he is not shy to show his feelings.... with new music coming from a guy like that.... Trespassing must really be awesome...

Difference in delivery. On Leno he attacked the song, singing with attitude and intensity. On Ellen he started off in a more introspective and caressing manner and built the intensity throughout. I found the Leno version more declarative and this one more plaintive and pleading. Different but both valid interpretations IMHO.
To me the song embodies both the declaration of commitment and the pleading with the other not to give up or leave. The Leno version emphasized the declaration whereas the Ellen version emphasized the pleading.

I watched the band today too. Ashley is HOT! Isaac is beating the crap out of those drums!! I can hear Tommy and Ashley in this video! Kevin is damn fun to watch too!! But Adam.......... OMG..........perfection! Bamafan, I think we will have a different ending every time he sings this song!! I have chills!! |
