Daughtry's cover of rock song "Separate Ways" is already at top 40 on active rock radio so good for him. It was released independently about a week ago. Still hoping Adam's team can get his glam rock cover of "Holding Out For A Hero" or his cover ballad of rock song "Ordinary World" charting on US radio on one of the less competitive and smaller charts and not holding out for the elusive pop charts. I would think that some radio effort also helps with the streaming. His songs are too good not to be heard by a wider audience, imo.

I like Daughtry and I'm glad he's got a song high on the rock charts. It always strikes me that while Adam does some very high-profile appearances and performances, he just can't seem to break through that radio wall. Daughtry doesn't do those big showier gigs (to my knowledge) but he sure does well on rock radio. I sure hope one of Adam's new songs breaks through. US radio is really tough for him.

Daughtry does not get those high profile gigs or the press like Adam solo or with Queen. Daughtry did perform on the Kelly Clarkson show with a song on his last album last year or so. But not much else. After Adam being out there for 13 or 14 years with his own material and fronting Queen, you would think his team would try something other than US pop radio. They have never shown him much love after WWFM. IIHY and GT did okay but not on the level of WWFM in the US. Adam is more diverse than many of the other artists who manage to get their songs on different charts at the same time. So it is hard to understand why he is limited to pop or nothing. Not expecting massive radio play for him in the US but you have to get some radio traction on AC, alt, rock or something to get consideration for nominations.

With all the holiday busyness over and visitors gone, I've had a chance to listen to Adam on the Happy Place blog. It was very interesting and revealing. His projection of his anxieties onto the sound system certainly explains a lot of his on stage behaviour -- both distracting for him and the audience. Looking back, he didn't seem as preoccupied with the sound when performing with Queen and I thought it was just a superior system but maybe he is just less anxious on stage with them. I can see how performing with Queen would be less anxiety-provoking than doing his solo shows.
I thought the host's questions were good. Adam didn't directly answer the question about how it feels to sing like he sings! LOL. I've often thought it must be wonderful to open your mouth and produce a sensational sound. But maybe it is like a drug and you never get back that first time when you realized that you could make a sound that impressed the people around you. Maybe you are always chasing that or letting perfectionism get in your way.
I get the impression that Adam is still on the anxiety reduction medication. Even with that, he still is very fidgety! Maybe he was nervous talking about himself or maybe he just always has lots of pent up energy!
