You learn/deduce slang from the strangest places. I have a lifelong interest in government and politics which has its emotional up and downs but is always fascinating. Early 2022, Rep. Madison Cawthorn got in all kinds of trouble for describing parties that he went to where older Republican politicians were always doing "bumps" of cocaine. His immature display of both in-group membership and youth snickering got his ass primaried and he lost his job. The "bump" stories disappeared and Cawthorn got a lesson in old person power.
And that's how I knew what Adam meant by party-type people who do bumps in the morning.

svca — I think every group has some identifiable slang but with social media it changes incredibly fast. Fortunately the worst of it goes away while some terms gain generational traction. 'Cool' is a very good example. My mother used to look at me so funny when I said that but the meaning of term fleshed out and has stood the test of time. ETA to your ETA, I understood you to mean "you" as generic

HA, I can deal with the youth slang and understand it or not. What I can't stand is all these "uncool" older jerk politicians and tv personalities with the "woke." They are sounding more stupid and paranoid trying to make it fit anything and everything they don't like or understand, lol. Just have the ba**s to say who and what you are against or take a seat.

"Woke" has been robbed of it's original meaning. My understanding is that it means being "awake" to the plights of other people and being empathetic about it. It's a good thing to be woke if you care about your fellow human beings. It's certainly not an extremist concept. Just common humanity.
