Leave it to the media. Not mentioning the award, why he got it, all the good work he does, only the negative. I didn't think this was news. He was canceled, we knew what went on. Very frustrating! Old news is walking all over his movie debut and all he has accomplished.

Regarding the focus of some news outlets on the ABC/AMA/law suit dust-up; there is a very legitimate case to be made that it will open some people's eyes that his career was intentionally held back for being gay. It's often the struggle against powerful institutions that define who is and is not called a legend. People often wonder, after hearing him sing, why Adam is so overlooked and underrated. The current news stories answer that question. His struggle also informs his advocacy.
Remember, Rosa Parks is often mentioned showing her arrest mug-shoot. There is a reason for that, to remind that things we take for granted today haven't always been that easy.

There is a reason for that, to remind that things we take for granted today haven't always been that easy. Valid points but that has always been the case but people know why his career was held back. But others always benefit from it instead of Adam no matter how many times the AMA's are brought up. When Troye came on the scene then LNX, they claimed (even some gay publications) that they were bolder than Adam? What the hell does that even mean? They are different artists with different talents so excuse Adam for attempting to let his talent take him far and not depend mostly on antics to get noticed. They came along much later after Adam had been beat up and the climate was much easier. And when Sam did so well, many loved to point out his career reached higher heights than Adams cause he got more radio play and won awards. Adam is good for the headlines but they never help him with radio play which leads to award consideration. And his first #1 BB200 album by an out gay artist is often left out when they brag about LGBT accomplishments. Recently, I went thru a list of 50 LGBT trailblazers and was sad to see Frank, Billy Porter and Janelle but no Adam. So for me, it doesn't feel good or right that they always want to use him for headlines about homophobia, and what he went thru, without supporting him where it counts. Or acknowledging the great things he has accomplished. When the story is written, I have little doubt that LNX will get the trailblazer mantle for change. He pretty much already does.

Adam is the picture of kindness, generosity, and compassion. Most, if not all of the late-night hosts did the same…Seth Meyers, Trevor Noah, James Corden, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert were among them. It is important to remember the big-hearted, especially with all the chaos around us.
