WOW.
Great performance!
Gives me reason to know why I've been here since 2009.
I decided to write a little synopsis of the show.
Stream of red & black in the theatre.
1PM - it's time. Music stops - then changes. Crowd is excited. Don't know what song is playing. Very like electronic elevator jazzy music. Crowd whistles. Phones out.
1:03 - Cmon!
1:05 - Cmon! Whistles louder. excitement versus agitation increases.
1:10 - Another camera view . . . . Adam! Where are you? Heads are bouncing. Are you greeting friends or is this a confidence acquiring moment? Camera pans front row.
1:13 - music stops. Crowd sees something. Maybe or not. Music off. A good sign. Lights dim - finally!
1:14 - Dark. Background alight. Here comes Adam!
#1 - Getting Older: Long Black leather coat; Glitter eyes. Voice is perfection! Looks like he glances to the floor to be sure of the words - but they come very easy. Great first song.
#2 - I'm A Man: Cam on keys. "Let me be a man" "If I could love you the way a man loves a woman . . . but let me be what I am"
#3 - Chandelier: BIG bell bottoms are seen! I'm thinking of Karen, who gave me the chandelier that hung in my home . . . from Adam's performance in 'Glee' . . .
The ending is awesome!
#4 - I Need a Hero: Rocking! Wow! Drummer is great! Audience is moving! Low register! Belting it! Throaty! The howling wind outside my home is in time with this!
*Talk! 'Are you guys having a good time'? 'I love you all so much!'
#5 'Old Favorite' - WWFM
- To me this shows how far he has come. Songs are now more - something - sophisticated? complicated? intricate? emotional? inspirational? evocative?simple?geometrical?forthright?genuine? I know they've always been honest. I just look at the different interpretations of 'WWFM' and "My Attic" . . . .
#6 - Thanks for rolling with the punches - high on my jet-lag life. My heart is a Ghost Town! * messed up on a few lyrics* - - so what??! The bass player is finally getting into it!
#7 - Bring out the stool . . . "I know the guy who wrote this song". "Do you really want to hurt me?" So melodic; jazzy and questioning. Gorgeous.
#8 - "My Attic". "Written by one of my favorite artists - Pink". "We often don't process our emotions - they're in a box upstairs. Wounds. Allow me to be vulnerable and think.".
#9 - "Ordinary World". Cam on keys. Sublime. I listen with my eyes closed. Adam sings with his eyes closed. Awe.
#10 - Violins! Mad about the Boy!! Let's keep it going!!
#11 - "Let's get funky!" "I Can't Stand the Rain" - Adam checks the music and dances. Lots of audience whoops!
#12 - Let's Dance!! "Sex on Fire" - dancing with hand in pocket. Audience is rocking; guitar solo; Cam ends - Yes!
#13 - "I ripped my pants!" "Is my ass out?" "Another One Bites The Dust"
#14 - Want sone more Queen?? "Stone Cold Crazy' Audience loving it!! Wooooo!
#15 - "A badd ass one for you" "I'm from California - the West Coast." What to call this? Drama? Wearing dark glasses to sing this - absolute high drama, wailing vocals - reminding me of Sleepwalker - - - take a breath!
#16 - "Thank you so much for coming out tonight". "Lord Sir - Brian May is here; the Phantom of the Opera" tonight. It it weren't for Queen I wouldn't be here"
"We Are The Champions" - Audience right there! Adam looks up to Brian . . .!!!
"Give it up for . . .the players. I love you all . . .Good Night !" 2:20PM
No encore; although fans stayed to see . . . at 2:23 the lights came up on the stage; the set list was handed out; the show was over. So lovely.
I've been here for such a long time. Followed Adam for a great part of my life; and I will continue to do so.
Why? Because no one on this earth, except Adam, brings the coalescence of emotion, voice, talent, presence, honesty, humility, and joy to performance.
The reason why I'm here changes just as we grow. You may not find me in the front row again; but I assure you, you will find me.
