Pretty dang great to have top billing in the article and social media. Very interesting reading thru that vinyl sales are leading cd sales for hard copies for all artists. This chart only looks at buys, no streaming which I think really measures fan strength for artists. Fans who want that physical copy especially to put in their collection. |

I’m not sure buying physical copies is even a thought for young people, at least around me everyone pays for some streaming service (Spotify) and that’s it. They have no devices to play any hard media on anyway. And they’d fly to a concert overseas, buy wearable merch but not CDs. |

Maybe 5-6 years ago I bought a CD player so that when CD playing became obsolete I would still have that option. Still in the box… haha. Streaming Spotify is so easy….viewing and playing on my ipad or desktop is so easy😎, and I am older…ie not YOUNG😍. Honestly, I never opened more than one EP or CD I bought for each album release. I gave away CD’s “early on” but knew they went pretty much unused. I bought a big plastic shelving system that stores all the magazines, concert stuff, extra Adam CD’s I have acquired. etc., (some bigger heavier magazines etc are on coffee tables). I only played my CD’s in the car…and that was rare and now that I have a new car, I will have too look when out of my pj’s, too see If it has a CD player. I obviously have not missed it, and it did not even cross my mind as an option for the car. 🙃 |
