Boy, Adam's house really has a revolving door. I hope everyone leaves when he gets home. Everyone? It looks like Oliver is on a (weekend?) trip with Maxwell and his friend Pam into the snowy Californian mountains. Probably they want to ski? Zander and his partner are dogsitting. They did it before, when Adam and Oliver had been in New York. I‘m not sure though, if Pharaoh is at home or at their place. twitter.com/lambritsuk/status/1636628723804905473?s=61&t=bz9CZdNsq9LvL54OkL-DPA

My Canadian niece/husband and baby won week trip to the Maldives. They were walking along a beach in the Gold Coast Au where the hubby was going to school, and a suntan lotion company had an advertising stall set up… create a jingle about the lotion and you could win a trip to the Maldives. My niece’s mom and her husband pulled something together, submitted it, and weeks later they found out he won. The kicker was you had to get there! Being a poor university going family, my brother kicked in with air miles, and on a break in university they were off for the vacation of a life time.
Just like all the pics Cam and Eric posted on their IG ..a slice of heaven. The big worry was how to enjoy with the trip with a baby. No worries. It was not busy at the resort and the staff were lining up to hold/play with Cooper esp during meals. And two extra staff on the beach. Luckily they had their own pool too. The biggest stress was how un popular they would be if people paid big bucks for a relaxing vacations and were placed in a unit beside a crying baby. Luckily with low season it worked out.
Anyway a trip of a lifetime.
Now… guess this gig might be the reverse of the JK. Rowling NYE gig. Never even knew about at the time, fans found out about, much later. THIS one … we know about… but very private gig. Hope it all went well. Now 36 or more hours flying back to LA or beyond.

I think the quality of Adam's interviews has much improved over the years. Ironically though, Adam clearly did not like the "guy liner" talk and silly games of his earlier years as he wanted to talk about his music, and nowadays he gets to talk about his music when being interviewed, while freely giving make-up tutorials over on Tik Tok. I'm not much into that stuff, though I can appreciate the artistry behind it. The thing is, Adam was one of the very few gay guys at that time who WOULD actually talk about "gay stuff." I can't think of another gay singer at that time who actually talked about it when asked. I know he wanted to talk more about his music. But he was kind of a novelty to interviewers, because he was so open about being gay and was willing to respond to questions about it. He didn't say, "Wait! Stop! I don't want to talk about that!" or "That's private." He played along with some pretty tasteless jokes and questions. Once interviewers knew that he wouldn't shy away from questions, they kept asking them, and he often obliged. Now that the novelty has worn off, he is more in charge of the conversation and will bring up his sexuality when and how he wants to. Of course, topics about sexuality are very big right now politically, and he does not shy away from it. He's become an activist. But, yeah, those early days were different. He was a rare item when it came to openly discussing his sexuality. No other music artist was doing that, to my knowledge. And he did it with his natural good humor. Very true. But Adam was the only new artist out there who was an out gay man at the time. But that did not excuse those interviewers who acted as if they did not know what gay was and he was some oddity on display. When SS and Frank came along, they were allowed to state their sexuality. But their fans nor the interviewers expected them to keep explaining what it meant to be gay 24/7 or acted as if that was the most interesting thing about them. So they were more accepted as artists who were gay and moved into the mainstream with their music but not gay, gay, gay endlessly like Adam. I still think that is why the radio play and awards came so fast for them and not Adam. It certainly was not talent. I remember my favorite radio station talking endlessly (sometimes joking) about his sexuality but would not play his music until he reached top 20. That rule did not apply to any others tho. Adam answered every question but it had to be hard for him. Remember when the writers of Underneath stated how upset Adam was recording the song because he took a call from Behind the Music (who were doing a story about him) and they mainly wanted to talk about his sexuality and little about his music? Yes he became a great role model but at a cost. He would have had more of an impact if some of those Grammy's and big awards had come his way at a time when everyone was talking about and interested in his sexuality. He is likely proud that he opened doors for others but it would have been nice to see him benefit from it all tho he has done very well.

Love that Dunkin Latte interview! Y'know, Adam used to say that he was NOT going to be actually acting in "the musical." But on several occasions, when he is asked about that, he no longer just says "no." Hmmmmmmmm. Looks like 2023 is turning out to be another very busy year.

Another really great interview! I could live without seeing that outfit again though. Maybe just the shirt with black pants or something… Yes, he can wear what he wants!
