Deluxe version will have more tracks. Looks like 12 on basic album and 16 on Deluxe album.
There will also be some bonus tracks. Usually 1 or 2 on the basic CD, and 2 on the Deluxe.
From what I hear track list is not finalized yet. Adam is still working on some of the tracks. He has until mid Feb and he could still hit the date. Want to bet that he uses every moment?
ETA: Cover design release is what pushed Trespassing up the chart. That often happens and this cover should go to #1 if there is any justice!! It is gorgeous!

Ok, had to order. Ordered one fro AO, but since I'm a sucker, and always prepared, I did this one too. By the way, DELUXE? Anyone care to explain. More songs. It will probably have at least 16! Sounds like Claude just heard another of his is on there! Maybe a bonus track?! Dang, I hope we get one of those EPs around Christmas time with about 5 new songs! Seems to be the "in" thing to do these days. I hate thinking that there are 30 songs leftover!

Here is a very interesting podcast about record company profits using Katy Perry as a case study--what is the future for the labels if they struggle to make profits with the act that reached MJ's high of 5 #1's? Just over 15 minute broadcast by NPR's Planet Money. They do an excellent job of economics education for non-numbers people(me). The podcast is great to listen to regularly -- I've learned a lot from them and they always make things accessible and fun. npr.vo.llnwd.net/kip0/_pxn=0+_pxK=17273/anon.npr-mp3/npr/blog/2012/01/20120120_blog_pmoney.mp3?orgId=1&sc=13&f=145538772Q3 or others in the know-- question for you. They mentioned that labels are starting to have 360 contracts with artists so that they can profit from touring, merchandise, publishing, etc. to make up for horrible record sales. Katy Perry didn't have to sign one -- do we know about Adam's contract? We have been WTF towards RCA's marketing of BTIKM -- strange times in the music biz.

Cover, in my estimation, could not be more dramatic, gorgeous, and indicative of changes in Adam's vision. He's so, so smart. Executive producer AND artistic director. If this career doesn't work out for him, he could do new resume with Objective: To be in charge. Experience: Being in charge. Interests: Having people follow my orders and "suggestions"

"I know exactly what you mean about the difference in Adam. My explanation is with the pre-release interviews it really was all new to him, he had the child-like enthusiasm and excitement. After the AMAs he was really putting his best foot forward and being himself, but also being aware of making a good impression. I remember when Jessie Cruickshank (SP?) had the split pants problem, Adam was laughing, but he kept looking to the side, probably at Lane to gauge what his response should be or how it was perceived. That happened in a few interviews at the time, like, "Is this okay?"
Now, I get the feeling Adam has gained confidence ( although I think there's still anxiety and trepidation that no matter what he does he'll still be thought of as an outsider) from the tour, the people who lined up to work on Trespassing, and the reviews it's getting. He's older, wiser, knows that he can't please everyone but is trying to please himself and those who matter. And most of all, I think he really believes in this album and what it has to say.
Our boy is growing up."
Just got finished catching up with yesterday's thread. I also see the differences in Adam in these current interviews. Since I read this comment by aspen, I can't get the chorus of this song out of my head.

RCA ILUSFM for those banners on industry sites. And how much do I love the fact that the fans are mentioned as a selling point? Marketing genius that was. I wonder if this wasn't their plan from the beginning, hence Adam tweeting us to request the song; fans requesting; PDs impressed; bam: quote. Also, video premiering on VEVO!!!! I am getting all my wishes!!!! (I was saying this exact thing in the thread yesterday, that it makes much more sense to me to premiere on VEVO whose demographic seems to be younger and hipper than on VH1.com) As a third praise point: I LOVE the idea of putting the album cover as a poster in all the interviews. Basically now whoever shows an interview with Adam shows the cover. It reaches so many peoples!!! I have seen this done for movie promo, but not for album promo before (though it could have been, who knows). Aaaaanyways, whoever had this idea is a genius. ETA: RCA wins three points in my book. Ask me next week LOL Pretty sure all the print interviews and on-line site interviews are arranged by DMG. But yes, the album cover was brilliant!! And how eye catching is that yellow lettering! My guess is East Coast radio tour will be on his way back from Sweden. He will stop in NYC and maybe do PA, DC, and possibly FL! He could even do TX. Coming in this direction, the timezone factor works in his favor. I mean he literally could do FL and TX the same day!! Then back just in time for the Grammy Red Carpet!! (I love the scenarios I work up in my head!) ;D That works for me!
