I thought he looked absolutely gorgeous... not a drag queen in sight lol.
Loved his hair especially. I said drag queen makeup look, not that he was a drag queen, lol. He looks good in eye makeup but not when it is so heavy and OTT.

I wonder if those of us who don’t care for the heavy makeup are ones who don’t use it ourselves. I know I never have. I know some makeup is needed onstage, but to me it just looks silly in most other situations unless it’s subtly applies (i.e. the no-makeup makeup look).

I wore makeup as my mom was always putting me in pageants when I was young, lol. And I also entered myself in high school and college pageants. I lost interest in my 2nd year of college and became more interested in clubbing. HA. But I would do makeup for friends and family members for various events. I still wear a little on special occasions. But I always tried to make it look more natural to enhance and not overpower. I never made anyone up (including myself) to look clown-like or excessive. Imo, if it is distracting it is probably too much. The only drag queen that I knew personally was a gay guy from high school/college. We would go to see him compete in drag pageants but they were rare and not prevalent like a NY or LA. He was drop dead gorgeous as a male. But when he put on gowns and makeup, no one could beat him. He won every time. And he stood out from the others because he was so beautiful with subtle makeup. He looked like a stunning woman and no exaggeration was needed. The others looked like men with OTT makeup and big wigs.

I did get caught up in the Mary Kay craze in the early 80's but only because my fellow office workers kept sponsoring Mary Kay parties. That and Tupperware! LOL

I came across it recently and found it interesting that the drag queens look quite different from the ones on the US version. I’d be interested in seeing what you think about the make up and appearance. I can’t remember about the make up so much but I know they do not have that big hair. That is so typical of RuPaul‘s drag race. It was on the same channel as RuPaul‘s I think, but it wouldn’t do any good to give you a number because I’m in Canada anyways. rupaulsdragrace.fandom.com/wiki/Drag_Race_Belgique_(Season_1)

I could never get into RuPaul Drag Race. Would only watch clips when Adam was judging. My limited interest of drag was based on my classmate, who was nothing like the drag queens that Adam poses with or the few I have seen from RuPaul. Tho I hope they can fight off these crazy political types who are trying to take away their rights to exist.

The exaggerated make-up seems to make the face act as a palette for colors and design, rather than using make-up to improve facial features and appear as natural as possible.

I don't use alot of make Up and never have and i'm one who doesnt Care much about Adams strong make Up. I Just Take it as it as it is. For me the beauty industry relies on telling US that we're not enough. Skin Care IS a different Thing, which i might actually bei able to get ob Board with.

However, you don't have to spend big bucks on moisturizer! And I agree about the beauty industry promoting perfection and persuading people to hide their so-called "flaws."
