The 18 Hawaiian kid, Iam, is expected to win Idol. He has his winners single out. It is a ballad with an Island flavor. Very pretty. It is #8 on the overall itunes chart. But it is also #1 on the rock and #1 on alt. But the Queen frontman can only get his music on the pop charts. I really don't understand why Adam's music is always limited to pop (a dead end unless you are one of favored) no matter what he puts out. But everyone else gets to compete in different or several formats.
It seems that a lot of these organizations who are LGBT friendly are starting to not include drag queens or any men dressing as women. They are afraid of the boycotts. That seems to be where most of the backlash is coming from. Women are getting upset with "biological men" winning in female competition and some are using that to brand LGBT men as having unfair advantage over the women. They know most will support the women athletes over transgender athletes even if they are LGBT friendly. And throwing in the kids is a winner for them. Drag queens reading to kids is an easy target. Adult entertainment belongs in the clubs and it does not matter that they are only reading books. If you don't stay in your lane, we are going to shut everything down (including pride parades with any men dressed as women) because some kid may see it. You can no longer treat it as fun and games. And linking LGBT men to exploiting kids or pretending to be women make for easy targets. When Adam came out in support of drag queens, it quickly became he wanted drag queens to perform with kids present. How the hell they got that out of his comments was puzzling. Then I realized, they did not misunderstand what he said they just wanted to brand his comments in the most negative way. So anything related to performing for kids in drag, dressing as women, or pronouns (most gay men are not doing either) is dismantling so much of the progress that the LGBT Community has made with acceptance and inclusion. Heck now you can't even mention gay or read about a gay character in schools. As long as they can keep it about protecting kids they win because that makes the community seem scary. The bigots lost on the gay marriage front because the LGBT community was presented as just like everyone else and deserved equal rights. Now all you hear about is gay men pretending they are women, drag queens, transgender or being sexual in front of kids and they have manufactured winning issues again to attack the LGBT Community. One idiot politician even accused Mayor Pete of wanting to use the girl's bathroom. It is all just frightening.
