"Trespassing, the single, may not even be in the running for the next released single. You really never know about these things!"
Okay, back from an extremely cold but happy walk with the dogs, who aren't really sure why mama needs to keep hollering "No trespassing my ass!" but since she's dancing while she does it, no worries...(fortunately, where I live, no witnesses...)
Here's my current thinking...I don't think Trespassing is going to be a radio single, at least not here in the US, for several reasons. First, I think leaking it out like that and only in Europe was done to keep the fan base revved up about the album without stepping on BTIKM here and to get the European audiences primed.
But...this is kinda funny kinda sad...do we really believe they're going to push a song to US radio that repeatedly uses the word "ass" sung by an openly gay male performer, no matter how fabulous?
If there weren't such a conservative backlash in this country right now, maybe...but I really thought that "Fever", given the Lady Gaga stamp, could have been a breakthrough single on this issue, and all that had was a lousy "he". Yet they didn't even try.
It's entirely possible it could be a single in Europe/International, though, right?
Can it become a club single without radio play? I am clueless about the club scene...
Just thinking. I do love the song, but as I started thinking it through...
