Glad to see that new interview from Pride Today. Adam pretty much said it in a nutshell.
I am not clutching my pearls over Closer, but I can sympathize with those who are. That F word is used all over the place in our society but not so much in the literal way it is used in the song. Adam loves to push the envelope and get people a bit riled up sometimes. He knows full well that this song is too much for some fans. It's sure not a song that is appropriate for every show he does, but he's probably enjoying the reactions, negative and positive.
He still has that boy-next-door kind of image that I love, but he sure loves to test the limits. I predict that Closer won't be on his set list forever.

I was just checking dates. "Closer" was released in 1994. I was 40. My kids (who are roughly the same age as Adam) must have played it on whatever streaming or pirating service was around then. I know I heard it, and thought it was an interesting song lyrically and musically, despite the "f" imagery. It was certainly raw - like many other Nine Inch Nails songs. So, I'm not clutching pearls. And I'm not clutching pearls about Sam Smith/Kim Petras "Unholy" or Lil Nas X and on and on.
BTW, I like Adam's performance of it. And after 30 some years, the "f" factor has worn off.

Not clutching my pearls either but the Closer song is so not sexy, lol. Imagine someone you are attracted to saying that to you. No thanks. But hopefully, he will move on past that song as there are so many other choices that bring out Adam's sexy side (normally love it when he gets a bit raunchy). And it could be worse, thank the Universe he is not pulling a Sam Smith. HA.

Gogglebox sounds brilliant. I'll bet they will be so funny together. Unfortunately, I tried to get channel 4 in the US the last time Adam was on and found that you needed an actual address to register. So, hoping someone will bring it over.
