iTunes
233. Pop 859. Overall
Will the mv push BTIKM along? Will BTIKM move up iTunes? Will adders become spinners? Wish I had a crystal ball . . .

I love it here, it is all geeky number people. Fun stuff. You do have to be a little immune to angst. I am kind of a see the brighter side always so doesn't bother me much. I have been waiting so long to have actual numbers to worry over. I am just happy, happy, happy. New music to chart watch. Yay.

The video will drive numbers up. The real question is whether it will have a long term effect or not.
As for the angst going on about decrease in radio play of BTIKM in Canada, well, despite this the song has never left iTunes top 1000. It is not in the top 100 but it has been selling stably for a month now. On a side note, German promo pays off too, BTIKM reappeared at #441 (German iTunes).

I hope once Adam gets back from the UK, that he attacks the US radio stations and music media with the same gusto he did the UK peeps and that coupled with the video help the song gain traction and then Z adds and it snowballs. I know everyone thinks most promo will coincide with the album drop, but to me it makes no sense to not push the shit out of the first single. It's what drives a lot of people ( casual fans that is or even non fans) to go out and buy the album. They go "Oh hey I love that song I might pick the album up!" If he doesn't at least have somewhat of a hit with the song then it may be even harder for him come album time. I wonder if there are any chances for awesome TV promo? I am assuming Idol, but when do they go to the eps where live performances start? That may help down the road but still, I think he needs to come back and assault the US peeps the way he did with the UK peeps. If his rollout if going similar to Kelly's as some people have told me--and the parallels can be made quite easily--then it makes sense that pretty soon we should get some major promo. But who knows. Nothing ever makes sense lol

Well, Madonna releases the week after Adam, right? I do think Adele could easily be well over 100K, so that could be difficult to top. I'm sure Madonna will have a couple weeks of just huge numbers, but I was counting on her releasing a week after. For some reason I thought Madonna and Adam had the same release day. You're right about Adele especially since she is appearing at the Grammy's after her throat surgery., she will be a selling machine. l I must be the only person in the world who has not purchased her CD or singles. Her #'s are incredible Isn't the Grammy's on February 12, how will that effect Adam's sales week?

Adele; not only will she totally clean up at the Grammy's, but she will also be performing for the first time since her throat surgery. She is going to be posting huge numbers after this, and will probably still be posting huge numbers on Adam's drop week. This won't effect Adam's sales at all, but it could effect whether or not he can debut at #1.

If Adam can do 110K or more, he has a great chance of being #1 his week or at least #2. crazyoldgal, you are not the only one who hasn't purchased Adele's album. I have only downloaded 3 songs. (And Someone Like You is not one of them!) :-/
