Justgill Chartshow TV has BTIKM video premier at 8am tomorrow...just set to tape !! (Its the "i" on the planner) - thanks: I knew I'd probably remembered the wrong one :-/. That is the same as midnight PST isn't it? It's the ins and outs of daylight saving that put the final touch to my timezone confusion :  . Yes...same time  |

I don't know if it's of any use to the Brits here, but at 1pm tomorrow, Chart Show tv are also showing Adam's 'top 5 videos'. Ok, so that's the same as the birthday programme they did for him, but this one is only going to be Adam; not Katy Perry after to fill up the half hour : . Then I think I'll be able to get rid of the first (slightly longer) programme. I've never seen so much Adam goodness available here before, so I need to keep everything down to the bare essentials on my Sky box. (Not that Adam ever will of course ) |

Looks soothing and relaxing. One thing I remember about the bathtubs in Europe -- some of them are huge! I bathed in one once that I could actually float in -- learned to use a little less water. |

You know I think it is very telling that the UK is getting a prime morning time premier of the video. His other videos I believe all premiered in the US on VH1 right and usually first thing in the morning. But giving the UK the morning slot which puts US EST time at 3:00 am is a huge commitment to pushing him in the UK. It really does seem as if the major focus this era starts there.
Everybody seems to want him to do the dog and pony show US radio promo tour but seem to forget that he did that during his tour with promo for IIHY and he had to put up with a LOT of bullshit from asinine US DJ's. I keep saying that I've always had the impression that they started off FYE era focusing more on the visual aspects of Adam's appeal with his rollout being more TV and Video focused and seemed at first to be leaving radio to jump on the bandwagon or not. My impression of the early support for WWFM from the big stations was less that RCA secured those deals and more about PD's refusing to play FYE but not wanting to be labeled homophobic so they support the other song. I think in the beginning they actually played a little hard to get with radio with respect to interviews and appearances hence the no Jingle Balls thing but that the AMA's caused enough problems with TV that they had to kind of abandon that. However I remember at least one of the radio stations that got him for the last minute appearance only thing for one of the Jingle Balls said that they had tried to get him earlier and been told no but when the TV stuff was getting pulled and the NYE gig was dead in the water they tried again and were able to get him to at least come intro.
I actually hope they are playing hard to get again and making radio do the pushing instead of going and begging for play. I know in my heart that Adam will be huge and they can only ignore him for so long before they start to look like idiots. I'd much rather he negotiate with Radio from a position of strength. I think the fact that his promo is mostly concentrated around the release of the video shows that they are still heavily focusing on his viewing appeal.
All of this is of course only my view and YMMV.
