Three seasons ago American Idol almost passed up the opportunity of having a contestant in the final rounds because his sound was "too broadway." That contestant, Adam Lambert, went on to have a successful first album, selling more than 800,000 copies and being nominated for a Grammy.

I'm thinking possibly a Katy Perry collab (she doesn't need him, though) - could be a Nicki Minaj collab (great urban crossover like Rhianna and Jayze - New York). Adam LUVS Jessi J...maybe Madonna is popping in? Lessee..who else... Is it March yet?  ETA: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE 'TENSIES' today!!! |

I realize I'm quite, quite biased but the problem with a collab with Adam and another singer is that he'll make he/she/it sound like crap in comparison. Most of the really big folks on the charts these days aren't really singers, they're performers. Next to a trained singer with remarkable natural ability...hell, even Kevin (who I really like singing harmonies) when he had his brief solo part during the Austria BTIKM sounded very...not Adam. Maybe someone who is more of a rapper/talker to the music...Keisha, maybe? (No I'm not going to do that goofy thing with the dollar sign. I'm too old and cranky to be arsed.) Would donate an organ for a Bowie collab. Seriously. Ke$ha is good, she can rap when Adam sing. Katy P? Can you imagine they sing together on Grammy stage ;D Christina A. maybe 10 yrs ago. Hard to choose to collaborate with Adam - Adele !!!!!!! ETA : Justin Timberlake !!!!!!! |

Well, i think it'll be someone who is way unexpected. Adam said if it works out, it'll blow our minds. What artists today is huge or big enough, that the fandom will be over the moon if it happens? That rules out a lot of people I think.
