I think Adam is quite popular there as I realized today ;D I was watching the video when my Mom came in, it was around the 2:35 mark and she immediatly recognized Adam (dark Adam). I was sooo surprised. I had shown her the EMA performance once and have not expected her to recognize him and asked her. My parents are immigrants from Turkey are watching a lot of Turkish television, but not me. She told me, that Turkish media has shown the Queen performance and also mentioned Adam in the news. She also told me, that she knows him from gossip shows, where they are supposed to report about him, but also compare others to him, outfit-wise/performance-wise/vocal-wise (if I understood it correctly). In other words there is a lot more media coverage in Turkey than here in Germany. ;D But I don't know how the sales has been there. :-/ I wonder why she has never mentioned all this. ???

Oh, my. This is definitely a force five hurricane today. The EPIC (sorry, but no other word for it) MV that, IMHO, blows away other pop videos. The news, apparently now confirmed by RCA, that Adam will do a series of performances with Queen in Europe this summer, a showcase happening in just a few minutes now, right? But, do not miss the interview with John Kearns that I posted a couple of pages ago. soundcloud.com/galechester/long-version-john-kearns-showVery good interview. No nonsense about Idol, gay, gay, eyeliner, meeting Madonna, bar brawls etc. Mentions the EMAs, and focuses on the MUSIC. Two things made me pause and think. First, was the host's comment that Adam is getting accolades for 'THE VOICE', and Adam's acknowledgement that this IS his signature, IS the core of his music, and he is making sure that it is highly featured. I know he has said this repeatedly, but I never tire of hearing it, and the way he acknowledged its importance put a smile on my face. The second thing was when the host asked what the non-performing Adam does with his days, and Adam repeated his comment about being boring. The really serious, passionate, dedicated musicians I know (and I imagine this is true for all artists) LIVE for their music. It consumes their day and their thoughts. Just like we Adam fans tend to experience everyday events and link them to something about Adam, artists see and hear art in everyday events. The artist's brain rarely shuts off or gets diverted. Their art, and the art of others around them, is not only their profession, it is their hobby, their constant companion, what gets their adrenalin flowing, what arouses them, what pacifies them. It is obsessive/compulsive, in a way. So, Adam's statement does not surprise me at all, once I think about it.

As awesome as the whole Queen thing is, I wonder if the timing is right? Doesn't this take away from Trespassing a bit? And postpone his own tour until fall?
However, here's a little fantasy "what if": if the Queen rumors are true, what if the collaboration he's hoping for is with Queen? Maybe one of those unpublished Freddie Mercury songs that they talk about every once in a while. Then he plays it with Queen and it leads back to his own album. Maybe he even opens for Queen with his own music! ANd does the sets and lights too!

WOW I think the press may be going over the top. Adam said in many interviews that he would do a number of gigs with Queen ,but won't be touring with them. He said he wants to promote his own album. So all this hoopla is kind of misleading. Hope Adam tweets soon and explains. I don't think it's misleading. Queen has said all along a short tour. I am thinking a few major cities around the world. Brian and Roger set up the Tribute Band because they do not want to do a long tour, but still want to give the fans Queen music. Adam's Trespassing Tour wouldn't have started before mid to end of July anyway, so I do not see this interferring at al! In my book, it's all good!! NoAngel, I would guess that this will be VERY lucrative! Adam will be making millions with this gig! And the official announcements are probably waiting for all the "ts" to be crossed and "i" to be dotted on his contract. I think Brian and Roger will be generous. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for them as well. They must be thrilled to be doing these shows with a singer of Adam's caliber!

This is why I married a political scientist. The third tidbit I've heard that makes me want to skip.. is that he has kept the idea of touring in his mind as he was working through his music. I think this was less of a thought the first go around, which is why we never heard some of his songs live.

4Music 4Music There are two sides to @adamlambert in his video for #BetterThanIKnowMyself. Watch his new video here. Do you like it? bit.ly/wypn3C5 minutes ago News: Adam Lambert - Better Than I Know Myself Video
(BTIKM video) Adam unveils his highly anticipated new videoWe've been building up to this all week. After expecting Adam Lambert's new video on Monday we had to frustratingly wait just a few more days on the edge of our seats in anticipation. On Wednesday the hunky spikey-haired singer gave us a sneak peak. We were also treated to a behind-the-scenes look at the shoot, on which Adam told us all about the lyrics. Now the video in its entirety has dropped. And it was well worth the wait. Adam goes all hot and cold on us as the video switches from shivery blue tones to a warm sunny orange hue. We see him relaxing with a book, doing yoga and drinking a cuppa while the sun shines through the window. However, there's another side to the singer. As the cold creeps in we see him smashing up his flat and looking angry with his thick black eyeliner and higher-than-usual quiff. We love the contrast and hope you do too.

I can't see the video until I go to the library later today :-( but it sounds marvelous. And I get to entertain the other library patrons as I bounce around in my chair, and sing along as quietly as possible. Loving all the comments from the rest of you.

Watching the mv, again, reminded me that I've always imagined it must have gone on in Adam's brain at points in his life that he had the talent, looks, personality, etc. to have a chance at being as"big" as anyone given the chance, but that he probably wouldn't get a chance. Light Adam would try to handle that - "self-help," etc. Dark Adam would RAGE and be self-destructive. They come together, and stride out confidently.
