Whether some reviewers give Adam "too-faint praise" or not, the fact remains that QAL fills huge venues all over the world and audiences love them. It's been said that the most revered celebrities often gain a higher level of adoration after they die, attaining a kind of god-like status. On his own merits, Freddie deserved all the accolades he ever got and still gets. He will always loom large over Queen's legacy. Adam is wise to remain humble and appreciative regarding his place in the band. He's won over a lot of "Freddie Onlys" over the years. And he's dealing with the occasional "but, of course, there will always be Freddie" remarks with great tact. Seems to me that most Queen fans across the board accept Adam just fine.
