SophieB. Did anyone do more than one number last year? I’m hoping for a solo (most prob a Queen song) and a duet with Beverly (a Xmas song).

I think Adam is a Brit by adoption. They love him. Singing with Queen has brought him to rock royalty and he is very classy. I kind of hope he would sing one of his own songs, but I don’t know what would be appropriate for a Christmas service so, yes, I think it will be a Queen song. A duet with Beverly would be wonderful.
regarding Adam’s responses to the texts, it seems he was put on the defensive. I agree he should just leave it.

pi . I really don’t know - but I’d imagine that the Princess of Wales has a big say in choice of performers as it’s her charity event and she organises it each year, by committee of course. Very quick unscientific look-up of last year’s event…all British performers, both for the music side and the readings side. Alfie Boe (thankfully, not giving himself a stroke singing Don’t Stop Me Now!), Melanie C (Spice Girls) Craig David….and…forgotten…duh! So it wouldn’t surprise me if all the musical guests are already announced. Alfie and Melanie did a carol duet so perhaps Beverley and Adam? Hope not but I’ll take it.  Edit: have just seen a tweet by DILambert who says that Adam is the only non-Brit performer in all three years of the concerts. Wow! (sorry, can’t bring it here though I used to know how to do it  ) Interesting! I'm curious how she decided on Adam.. Adam has done a few great duets with Beverley. It was on TV on Christmas Eve when I’m always very busy with family. And can’t find anything much online. Of course if Adam had been on then, the family wouldn’t have stood a chance. But it’s a Christmas Carol concert, including children, so I’m pretty sure it will be traditional religious songs or songs with peaceful, inspirational messages! Alfie and Melanie C did only the duet so I have a feeling about Beverley and Adam…. |

Exciting that Adam was asked to perform at this UK Christmas performance. He has been a judge on UK tv and has performed solo on UK tv, with Queen and been on many shows for interviews. Katy Perry and Lionel Richie performed at the coronation. Adam with Queen at the Jubilee. I'm guessing some in the UK saw the Oscars where he performed with Queen and with Queen for New Years. So he is a known US talent. Now Adam solo, so another great opportunity and platform for him for whatever he sings. So happy for him.

I guess I'm assuming the Westminster thing will be a Christmas-themed event. Westminster is a church, after all. And a very beautiful one. Not having ever seen this even, I'm guessing there will some serious music and some lighter holiday music, too. Adam loves O Holy Night, which is a vocal show-stopper, but anything he sings will be fine with me. Looking forward to it!
I looked up the lyrics to "I'm A Man." I hadn't done that before. It's perfect for Adam, with the message and just the right amount of poignancy.
