I LOVE that old photo of Adam dressed for the stage. Whether is was The Music Man or Hello Dolly, he looks like a rea star. And so handsome. I think we sometimes forget how much theater he did in the years before Idol. He was a star in the making. I hope he gets more chances to do some acting, whether it's on the stage or screen. .

And Michael Orland was a Glambert from the moment he met Adam. I guarantee it. Talk about respect! And he said that Adam was the first and maybe the only contestant to thank Michael publicly onstage for his help and knowledge. I think that was after he sang If I Can't Have You, but I could be wrong. I LOVE how Michael emphasized how important it is to have a strong work ethic before, during and especially AFTER being on the show. It's more than just having a good voice. Lots more.

I LOVE how Michael emphasized how important it is to have a strong work ethic before, during and especially AFTER being on the show. It's more than just having a good voice. Lots more. So very true. I think that is where many winners of Idol fell short. They saw the success of Carrie and Kelly and somewhat assumed that winning the show would make you a star. Someone would take you by the hand an lead you there because after all, you won. Even many of their fans thought all opportunities would or should go to them because they won. Who could forget the melt-down from fans of others when Adam was the first former Idol contestant asked back to mentor and he wasn't a winner? HA. But that is not how the real world works. They book who they want to book. Even when things don't work out as planned, you work harder, look for diverse opportunities and change direction if necessary. Carrie and Kelly probably had an easier path with little standing in their path to stardom. But for some minority non-winners, (Jhud-AA, Adam-gay) it wasn't as easy but they got there with talent, hard work, determination and pursuing possibilities. There was demand but they did not wait for breaks to automatically fall into their laps. After the Idol buzz, they kept themselves on the radar, determined not to be dismissed or easily forgotten.

Totally different conversation, but I guess QAL "participating" in the event in Japan on NYE does not mean they are there in person. I am guessing a video of their music, or a Zoom type performance. I am curious as to what this will be and hoping someone can video it and post. I love to see all things Adam.
Just as a PS, I noticed Adam thanking people many times, the band, the backup and, of course, Michael Orland during his time on AI. It seemed to me, at the time, he was the only one doing it. So professional and classy.

That's his nature, but I also think it comes from his formative theater training. During curtain calls at every musical I have ever seen or been involved with, the cast acknowledges the orchestra with their own bows.
