Yes! Thank you pi for this fabulous interview! It is truly one of the best. Even though we know a lot about Adam's journey, this particular interview gave us much more detail, esp. about those early years. Didn't know Eber had a "band" for a while. Haha! That had to be fun. Adam grew up in such a loving family. It really makes a difference later in life. Adam says he just wants to keep working. He was asked in a very early interview abut what he wanted in his career, and he replied, "Longevity." That's the key. I know I worry too much about Adam's lack of radio play and his position on the charts and all that. But his career will take different forms as it goes on. I think he will have longevity. I feel very lucky to witness it happening. Yes the most important thing is that Adam has longevity. But just when I make peace that chart hits and awards are no longer possible for him, I see someone like Jelly Roll making a splash. He is almost 40 so not much younger than Adam. He earned his GED from jail when he was in his early twenties then started off as a white rapper back in early 2000. Now he is a sensation and up for 2 Grammy's for best new artist and for country performance. In iheart awards he is doing even better. Up for awards for new pop artist/new country artist/new rock artist/artist of the year/best rock song/rock artist of the year. I don't look at the pop charts but he is mainly pushed as a country artist but charts well in country and in rock, so he has a good team/label behind him. It is still painful to me that when Adam was getting radio play, he was limited to pop (where the divas ruled unless you were Bruno, Sam, Harry and Ed) and was not allowed the exposure to show his talent in other genres like rock or alt at the same time. That he has done so well with limited radio support makes one wonder what he could have done if he had not been limited to pop and had been exposed to a wider audience. But as Adam said in the interview, it was hard to stop him and he does not compare himself to others. He used his talent and charisma to branch out in various areas so radio was not the most important part of his career. Can't wait to see what he has planned to go along with QAL and I hope QAL will stay around after Japan.

I've long stopped worrying about Adam as far as radio play and the awards games. There seems to be no rhyme or reason behind the "it" people and their successes, so I'll just enjoy Adam and his voice for as long as he's able to entertain us.

As far as I am concerned they are all bought and paid for. Somehow, I don’t think Adam really plays that game. It would be wonderful, I know. And, I’m sure he would love it. Let’s face it, they didn’t even give him a place in the Grammys for male vocalist for Believe. Yes, a cover…but that was one of the best male vocals of all time. Acclaimed by many. But not the Grammys. It’s not about talent. Adam seems to be happy and also seems to have a pretty balanced life. He is doing what he loves.

lurleene, you always give us a healthy dose of reality. I guess I'd rather that Adam be an artist who DESERVES noms and trophies and doesn't get them, than be an artist who has a fraction of the talent and gets loads of noms and awards. There is nothing we can do about it. The record labels and radio don't care about talent. They care about who sells, who listen, and who is most popular. Simple. Adam has been talented anomaly for years. Nobody knows it better than he does. It's just so frustrating. Adam will stay true to who he is. The Grammys and other music awards shows make me cringe. I don't watch.

There was this young male AA R&B and pop singer that everyone was talking about and a gay young lady and they and she talked more about her sexuality than her music. Both had high profile performances on the award show and neither were very good. He couldn't sing and I couldn't tell if she could sing or not cause she mostly danced with dancers. They hype who they want to hype and try to tell you how wonderful they are. Don't really hear much about either now.
