I don't think artists should go away after they reach their forties, fifties, sixties but hopefully they can show some growth and maturity. It just looks rather silly to see older artists trying to do what the kids want to see from Pop stars in their teens, twenties or early thirties. But many Pop stars who use dancing/dancers as a main part of their careers/shows often don't have the talent to do anything else as they get older. So they keep doing the same thing. Janet Jackson and Madonna come to mind. They just look dated. Ageist, maybe? But if it makes many cringe they are not going to stop stating the obvious. And I have never seen Jlo do anything else but mainly dance. I don't know what kind of show Ricky Martin puts on but when he jumped on stage with Camila Cabello at an awards show (doing the same dance moves he did in his twenties) it was not a good look for someone close to 50 at the time. But saying something is ageist is sorta like complaining about fat shaming or slut shaming. If you are an overweight artist or look cheap/slutty, it will be noticed and fans/non-fans will comment. I felt bad for Lizzo when she cried because she was being "fat shamed" for twerking instead of being praised. But that is part of being a celebrity. There will be good and bad comments. I think rockers, alt and County artists have a longer shelf life because they appeal across generations and are not relying mainly on tween/teen audiences like the Pop artists. And Queen was lucky to find a much younger and dynamic artist to keep them relevant. I know many miss Freddie but would they still have as much appeal without Adam fronting the band? If Roger and Brian stay healthy, they could do this for several more years and look good doing it.

I felt like the guy who did the reaction to WWTLF and STL was totally in awe of Adam. He as surprised and overwhelmed and respectful of Adam's amazing talent. Sure, he sure in the obligatory "there will only be one Freddie" thing, but we are used to that. You could tell this guy is a pure Queen fan in his soul. But Adam sure knocked him off his feet.
As to "aging pop star" thing. It's a bit of a mixed bag. I totally agree that few of the top pop divas of yore are looking a bit too old to still be doing what they did 20+ years ago. But it's what they do. The rockers and country stars do have a better chance at hanging in there past their heyday. Other types of singers, like James Taylor, who never was a rock singer anyway, just keep on going. And the mega rock bands like the Stones just keep on rocking.
I hope Adam finds a strong niche that will pay off for the long haul. I predict that he will gain new fans in future eras simply because his voice is so damn beautiful. The genre issue will morph and change over time.
And he has already shown us that he knows how to diversify.

Adam Lambert – Wet Dream
It’s been many years since an Adam Lambert song has caught my attention, but this brings him back to the clubs. The beat, the build and the hooks are all relentless. soundcloud.com/adamofficial/wet-dream

Little eye makeup/or makeup free show just what gorgeous eyes that Adam has. And the lighter facial hair and no/less makeup make him look younger. Beautiful photo. Still waiting for the darker hair to return but he is looking good. HA.

I could go with that darker hair, too. Even black. Brings out his eyes and makes him look a bit edgier. Overall, he's looking great. Love that less-is-better make-up, too. He's so naturally handsome.
Hoping to see some good vids from The Voice finals.
